From the forum here, I understand that units of the same type stack inside the keep. The rules say there's a space for each type (3 spaces are shown in the keep) and yet 4 types are shown in the rules.

Are the spaces in the keep meant to be just for 3 stacks with each stack containing all the same type of unit. And so there are only 3 possible stacks of units? Is there a 4th type?

The fourth space in the Keep is where your Fortification (Tower, Fort, etc.) goes. If you're wondering about "Wolf" (who is pictured separately in the rules from the other military unit types), he is still considered a Knight, even though he has different stats, and is stacked with the other Knights in your Keep.

Not only is Wolf a knight, you also want to keep him on the bottom of your stack of knights. If a Black Dragon or one of the Giants (event deck) gets inside your fortifications, you could possibly lose the top knight in your stack.

Because Wolf is a 4 point knight, he adds +1 to your die roll during a joust!
