Scenario Summary

It's every man for himself! The Ravens and The Bloody Fists, a rival Mercenary gang from Brigansburg, run through the dark and treacherous streets of Mordheim side by side in a panic. The screams of one of the Bloody Fists can still be heard off in the distance.

As the two Warbands came across each other and prepared to fight the ghost of the dreaded Town Crier manifested, putting a stop to the encounter along with one of the Bloody Fists' Marksmen!

As the screams die down and it appears we've reached a safe distance the two Warbands stop to catch their breath, but both are now spread out and divided across this area of the Merchant District. All hell's going to break loose!

**********

"The eerie bell toll of the Town Crier is a sound that can strike fear into the most hardy of Wyrdstone Hunters!

The Town Crier is a ghost, possibly the most deadly of all the tortured apparitions found within the City limits. In life he was affected by a second sight, and had the ability to foretell the future. He foresaw the wrath of Sigmar about to be visited upon Mordheim and tried desperately to warn the city's patrons of the fate that would come to them all. However they scoffed at him, mocking his claims and calling him a madman. As the comet drew ever closer the Town Crier went and stood at the point where it would strike and waited for his doom, damning all those who ignored him and vowing to return as a shade so he could forever walk the streets bringing misery and woe to all those that reside in Mordheim.

The tolling of his bell heralds his appearance and those that do not flee from him are doomed to die or be driven mad. The Town Crier knows all that shall come to pass, and they say that even if your nerves somehow survive the chilling horror of looking him in the eye without your heart exploding in terror he will then tell you the when, where and how of your own death, sealing your doom and shattering your mind, for what mortal can bare to hear the making of his own end!"

-Luthor Wolfenbaum

Turn 1
Hod and the two Bloody Fists he's with stop running and catch their breath, listening and watching to see if the Town Crier is pursuing them or not. It looks like they were not followed, and they relax briefly, exchanging gasps of relief. They are stood in the courtyard of a large noble villa. Nobody else is in sight. The Bloody Fists realize this AND that they outnumber Hod before Hod does, and exchange conspiratorial glances to each other, their grips tightening on their weapons. The Warlock approaches Hod who is still innocent to his predicament and attacks, making a flash of light to blind Hod and smashing him with a blow from his Staff.

Hod immediately finds himself surrounded and under attack!

The other Fist, a Marksman, runs a few steps further back and fires an arrow, striking Hod from behind! Hod tries to retaliate but bewildered by the spell his blows are clumsy and the Warlock dodges them easily.

Inside the villa Feggins, McFearsom and Sir Percival are poking around looking for anything worth stealing. McFearsom and Percival hear the commotion outside and split up. McFearsom heads out of the front doorway whilst Percival keeps looting. Outside McFearsom sees Hod under attack. He takes aim and fires, shooting straight past the Warlock and Hod, hitting the Marksmen on the far side!

McFearsom makes yet another impressive shot, hitting the enemy Marksman right off in the distance!

The Warlock is surprised by the shot even though he is not the target, and the noise he makes allows the blinded Hod to get a lucky hit on him with his Halberd!

Sir Percival continues looting, comfortable that whatever is going on outside isn't happening to him! He finds a lovely Wyrdstone Cluster, as well as a Great Hammer and Sigmarite Great Hammer.

Sir Percival finds a few items of worth inside the villa.

Upstairs Feggins finds little of interest, and after checking for trouble out on the North balcony he moves across the landing and out onto the South balcony where he is directly above the fight with Hod.

Feggins look out for trouble!

Klovis and Meshell are to the South East. With no enemies in sight they start to scavenge for loot. Klovis finds a Wyrdstone Shard inside one of the buildings and heads outside to check on our cart which is situated nearby. It appears to be unmolested.

Klovis checks cautiously on our cart.

Meshell collects another Wyrdstone Shard from the cobbles and heads past Klovis towards the cart. As she approaches she spots Werner Von Mirellasohn, the Bloody Fists Captain, rustling about in the Fists cart which is close to our own. She raises her Hunting Rifle and fires. The shot misses, hitting the cart instead and Werner ducks down into cover behind it.

Seidel and Marius are South of the villa looting the buildings. They find another Wyrdstone Cluster and some Fragments, then start to work their way back towards all the gun fire.

Seidel finds another lovely Cluster of Wyrdstone!

Turn 2
The Warlock and Marksman continue their assault upon Hod, although he manages to Parry off the worst of the damage.

The Bloody Fists continue to victimize poor Hod!

Up above the fight Feggins spies movement in the buildings to the West. It looks like several of the Bloody Fists are there, and sure enough a Warrior emerges from the houses and heads into the courtyard towards McFearsom.

Feggins spies several of the Bloody Fists in the buildings to the West of the villa, we could be in trouble!

Feggins snipes the Warrior from up on his balcony, the shot stopping the man long enough for Feggins to collect the Wyrdstone Fragments at his feet, reload and fire on him again!

The enemy Warrior enters the courtyard and heads for McFearsom!

Klovis drops off his Wyrdstone and heads into the courtyard to support McFearsom and Hod. Sir Percival also turns up beside McFearsom, blasting a round of shots from his Duelling Pistols at the incoming Warrior.

Sir Percival joins the fight in the courtyard!

Seidel collects more Wyrdstone as he heads West and then North towards the villa. Meshell and Marius approach the enemy cart.

Meshell and Marius approach the enemy cart and Werner, the Fists Captain!

Meshell reloads and shoots again, this time landing a shot on Werner who is still trying to vainly hide in the same place as before!

Meshell shoots on Werner, pinning him by his cart!

Yet another Warrior emerges from the houses to the West and enters the courtyard. Poor Hod will soon be totally surrounded. Unaware of the danger, he fights on oblivious. The enemy Warlock is a slippery fighter though, and continues to dodge his attacks!

Turn 3
The remaining Bloody Fists emerge from the buildings to the West and enter the villa's courtyard- the Ravens there are in trouble!

If Hod wasn't in trouble before he certainly will be soon!

A Youngblood charges into Hod's flank, slashing him in the side with his Spear.

A Youngblood charges in, adding even more damage to Hod's already failing HP bar!

Hod drops to one knee clutching his side, helpless as the Bloody Fists stand around him! The Warlock raises his Staff and sweeps it down, clubbing Hod brutally around the face! He spits a couple of teeth out along with a mouthful of blood and collapses to the floor!

The Warlock finally finishes off Hod, putting him out of action after a good fight!

The Warlock turns his attentions to Sir Percival who is still trying to reload his Pistols. A Marksman with a Dagger also sneaks in along the wall of the courtyard and joins the Warlock's attack against him.

Klovis sees the fight move focus onto Percival and McFearsom!

Klovis runs in from behind Percival, kicking the Marksman off his Captain!

Klovis charges in, drawing some of the pressure off the others!

Percival drops his Pistols and draws his Sword and Shield against the foes as an enemy arrow wizzes by, hitting McFearsom. He drops back behind Percival and Klovis, using them as cover to reload. Unfortunately he can't get a good shot on anyone due to the fighting right in front of him!

One of the Warriors returns fire against Feggins, striking him with an arrow! Feggins snarls in anger and shows the Warrior how its done- he shoots, draws and shoots again, killing his attacker before he gets chance to draw another shot!

One of the Warriors makes the mistake of stopping out in the open to shoot at Feggins- he double taps him down in one turn!

Meshell and Marius still have the Fists Captain pinned behind the enemy cart like a coward. Its a good job too- if Werner moves he could get into the courtyard behind Percival and the others! What Meshell and Marius don't know is that a Warrior is approaching them from the West hoping to flank them and protect his Captain. Luckily he crosses Seidel's path!

Seidel calls challenge to the man and the two charge into combat. The Warrior ducks under Seidel's charge and slashes him with his weapons!

The enemy Warrior gets the first hit on Seidel!

Seidel counters with an off-hand swipe, staggering the Warrior. He then uses both hands to slash his Great Sword across the Warrior's chest. The enemy falls to his knees, clutching his chest in pain and confusion as Seidel lands another hit on his shoulder!

The remaining Warrior joins in the melee against Percival and Klovis.

It's all in as a third Bloody Fist enters the fight against The Ravens in the courtyard!

Turn 4
Sir Percival and Klovis desperately hold the line against three opponents!

Three on two, not The Ravens' kind of odds!

The enemy Warlock recklessly throws a Blinding Light spell into the melee, dazzling friend and foe alike! Feggins continues to pepper the Warlock with arrows, trying to finish him off and put an end to his reckless spell casting. McFearsom also lands a shot, hitting the Dagger-wielding Marksman.

Luckily we have McFearsom to even out the fight!

The Warrior who charged Seidel pulls himself to his feet despite his injuries, so Seidel sweeps his mighty blade round and cuts the Warriors legs off at the knees! He won't be getting up again!

Werner is still cowering behind the enemy cart!

Turn 5
Klovis and Sir Percival are desperate. The Warlock deals considerable damage to Percival with a pair of brutal strikes, almost taking him out of action. The Marksman joins in Knifing the wounded Percival in the shoulder! Klovis tries vainly to defend Percival, but sustains several wounds himself.

Feggins shoots at the group and misses, fearing hitting one of The Ravens. He takes aim once more, taking his time over the shot. This time his arrow makes its mark, shooting straight into the skull of the enemy Warlock who collapses in a pile on the ground!

Feggins finally gets a kill shot on the Warlock!

Percival, freed from his biggest threat turns to the Marksman and smiles when he sees the man has his back to him! Percival steps in close and spears the Marksman in the spine. The man cries out briefly and drops to the ground, dead.

Sir Percival, freed from the Warlock's assault, back stabs the Marksman and kills him!

Percival sheathes his weapons, collects his Pistols from the ground and retreats as far from the fight as his injuries will allow, leaving Klovis with the remaining Warrior!

McFearsom takes aim and shoots the Warrior who is fighting with Klovis. The shot rips through his thigh, dropping the Warrior to the ground. 'Nice shot!', remarks Klovis. 'I missed!', replies McFearsom, 'I was aiming for his balls!'.

The enemy Youngblood has sneaked past and attempts to charge Meshell. Marius blocks his path with his Spear, stumbling the lad.

Marius blocks the Youngblood's advance!

The two exchange blows, Marius standing firm against the youth. Seidel reaches them and joins Marius against The Fists' Youngblood. Seidel sweeps, smashing the end of the Youngblood's Spear off!

Seidel sweeps into the enemy Youngblood!

Marius shunts him against the wall and holds him there with his own Spear.

The two Ravens hold the Youngblood in place.

Werner peeps around the side of the cart to see if any of his men are left. Seeing the remaining Fists been taken captive he goes to run and is surprised to see the barrel of Meshell's gun in his face- she has sneaked around the other side of the cart. 'Move', she says, using her head to nod him forward.

Sir Percival re-emerges now that the fight seems to be over.

The Youngblood surrenders and the Ravens call out in victory!

Percival walks past Klovis and Feggins who are stood over the moaning Warrior. He 'accidentally' steps on the man's injured leg as he advances, passes the stroppy looking Youngblood stood between Marius and Seidel and walks up to Meshell who has her Hunting Rifle poking Werner in the back of the head. Percival stands in front of Werner and claps his hand on his shoulder. 'I accept your surrender!', says Percival, and knees him hard in the crotch. Werner folds up like a piece of paper and falls to the floor. 'Good work gentleman, fair lady.', he says to The Ravens. 'Let us gather our things and depart before that dreadful ghostly chap returns!'. They retrieve the unconscious Hod and head for the city gates.

Victory!

"Good work fellas, you made the best of a bad situation! Take heed when voting for an ambush style mission or one with random deployment. We won't always be the ones springing the ambush! Getting the sharp end of the stick in this situation will make an otherwise straight forward mission much more dangerous, as Hod will confirm!"

I think you owe Feggins some praise- he's the one that shot down the Warlock- that pesky spell caster got you down to 3/131hp! A stiff breeze would have finished you off!

Knuckly Hod should also thank McFearsom. Hitting that Marksman probably saved him from serious injury.

"I'd take that promotion, but I ain't high-born enough for it. I'm happy with my lot, though." Taking a long look over at Sir Percival, "So's long as I get paid...."

As a sidenote: I believe this day's session report title takes the top spot for best title so far.

Nobles never recognize the work of ranged troops..

I'd say the whole Warband is playing its part quite well at the moment though! As our Warband increases in size so does that of the enemy- we will have to keep fighting well to survive!

From my experience Seidel is always cleaving foes left and right!

I dare say he is probably the top performer in terms of raw damage put out compared to what he receives in return! He nearly always gets most valuable player if he's involved in the mission.

That Fine Great Sword has made him a bit of a power house!
