This will be a bit of a jumbled thread, probably, but at least is one centralized place for any wild-card matches.

PLATINUM: No wild cards.

GOLD: Four-way tie for 2nd in Ark at 7-4; no 5th-place player finished 7-4 in Dreadnaught.

SILVER: Best 4th-place finish: 8-3 -- CrankyDay d. FrUnitSeven

Battlecruiser: FrUnitSeven (BH)
Flagship: none qualified
Mech: none qualified
Obliterator: CrankyDay (BE)

BRONZE: Best 3rd-place finish: 7-4 -- FuzzyLogic

Qualifying players:
Barge: Dusto (BEH) / FuzzyLogic (BEH)
Cutter: none qualified
Destroyer: markbotIIIk (1B) / Phishy (1B)
Needle: none qualified
Ram: Jaybirdy (V) / Jeremiah (V) / younggbg (V)
Screecher: rawlinpa (NP) / Wheels (G1BH)

IRON: Best 3rd-place finish: 8-3 -- Celebrendir

Qualifying players:
Corvette: zingy (1B)
Raft: Celebrendir (1BH)
Shuttle: goorak (V)

You may have to be a little clearer as to what your question actually is. Haha. Which tier are you confused about?

I see where the confusion is. Remy put a 5-way tie, but it is actually a 4-way tie. The top player in Ark went 8-3, so he gets an automatic promotion. Ark then has a 4-way tie for second. However, in Drednaught, after their four automatic promotions, there isn't another player who will be able to tie the 7-4 record in Ark, so Ark automatically gets the Wildcard. Between the four promotions and the Wildcard, the top 5 players in Ark get promoted. There is no need for a playoff because all four players currently tied for second have already secured their spot due to their season record.

Remy will have to answer about Silver, though.

I'm confused about what you are confused about. In silver tier, the top 3 players in each division are automatically qualified for legend series. The wild card goes to the best 4th place record, which has been set at 8-3. This record has been met in two divisions, was not met in one division, and it is yet to be determined in the last division. Once known, the 2 or 3 fourth place finishers will then playoff for the wildcard spot.

Edit: if it is the presence of the 'additionally' clause that has thrown you off, the obliterstor case may enlighten you. There was a 4-way tie, so a playoff was held within the division to determine who the top 3 players to be promoted to legend series would be. Additionally the loser of that playoff, would still be eligible for the wildcard spot, that also happens to necessitate a playoff, due to tied records.

That is not how this reads:

Edit: Specifically the first part. It seems like each division, not each tier, will have a wild card spot. Which make it sounds like the next best record in each division will get promoted and thus not an actual wild card lol.

Ahh, maybe it should have read:

No Iron Tier wildcard? I just finished the last game in the season which I unfortunately lost but was in three way tie for first with a finishing record of 8-3. Not sure of other two players outcome. I just checked the other Iron divisions and at worst case scenario I am in the wild card (every other 3rd place player has 3 or more losses).

I have generated so much confusion!! shake

1.) What a huge typo! Yes, there is one wild card per tier, not per division. Yikes.

2.) It was a four-way tie for second in Ark (which claimed five positions). This has been edited in the first post.

3.) I could have been clearer with my "additionally" sentence. A better version would read: "Additionally, any ties for promotion slots will be determined by playoff..."

PattyBagz wrote:

4.) There is definitely an Iron Tier wild card! (And Bronze, too.) But when I was making this first post, the seasons had not progressed to the point where there was really any relevant information to share. (And I was in a bit of a rush trying to get ready to leave (hence the errors).)

5.) We are ready for the Silver Tier Wild Card Playoff!

Pairing for promotion:

CrankyDay (BE) v. FrUnitSeven (BH)

(This match can be played as Type B.)

Thanks Adam but you know where luck generally stands when it comes to our games, don't you? And with your superior skills it make my win% against you at less than 20% in our last 11 recorded matches.

Our first was my 368th game; I was level 11 and fresh off a heartbreaking loss to a level 34 Utinni in the Season 12 Iron Tier championship. You were level 36 when we got matched up on the 48-hour random queue. It was a Vanilla match, and my first "giant" kill.

I feel that that was a very close game. I started down the aggro path, and was able to grab up more scrap, but had very limited economy. You got the Trade Hauler, and combo'd it 2 or three times, and also picked up some strong green. Without the Trade Escort, I definitely would not have survived long enough for my scrap to pay off. GG Frank.

Well played Adam, as usual.

You see what I mean by luck with my to 2 last hands? I missed 1 point of damage to finish you, then bottom decked my Blob Fighter whilst it was the key to victory. Typical!

And if I comboed 2 times my CH, I think you got 2 times more Blob combos than me despite the fact I had more Blobs than you.

In fact I'm almost happy to not play in Legends. There's some players there I don't want to meet anymore in competitive games.

I hope you'll do well there though. You'll need more than luck.

Congratulations, Adam! After starting the season 0-3, you reeled off 8 wins in a row to finish in a 4-way tie for first ... only to lose back-to-back games and miss out on the automatic promotion spots. You really backed into this event.

The playoff picture has cleared up somewhat for Bronze and Iron. There are only three divisions from Iron that can conceivably field a wild card, while we're looking at 8 or 9 players from Bronze that could be in the playoff. (And nothing personal against the player on the bubble, but an 8-player tournament is much easier that a 9-player one. )

Hold on!!

The list up top is just who has qualified for the event. It has not yet started.

But I like that go-getter spirit!

Ha! Phishy and I are underway. Are we playing a playoff game, or should we just consider this a "friendly"?

I'm good either way, just looking for some clarity.

Thanks, Remy!

This will be a friendly; I haven't set the pairings for the wild card tournament yet.
