Is the "1" in the 1-3 player simply there because you can play alone, all sides, or are there any explicit solo rules with the expansion?

You can play the game alone - all of the sides. No special solo rules.

Addendum: It's a chit-draw system, therefore enough Fog-of-War to make it solo - compatible since you don't know which units move when. Great game.

this game with solo rules would be great.

i purchased the base game and played it in solitaire some times, but it didn't fit for me. i didn't like to switch sides, although is true that the chit-draw system is friendly for solo play.

i don't think i will purchase this expansion, although the theme is very attractive... if only a true solo system were included... whistle

thabks for reply this is my sense of it without owning it. Theme fits for me but switching sides doesn't, even with chit pull in place...
