Two quick questions regarding two-player:

1: Who is the Culture Leader at the start of the game?
In a three player game the Greeks are, but in two player both teams start on one.

2: The Atlas expansion has alternative setups. This includes an alternate three-player setup. The same regions for Greece are visible. So I could setup the Barbarians the same way as usual, but play with Egypt and Babylon instead of Rome and Carthage. It looks like it should be balanced, but has anyone tried this yet? Thoughts?

I haven't tried any two player games at all.

But I thought the two player rules say Carthage starts out as Trade and Culture leader. Rome starts out as Military leader.

Here is a thread where someone mentioned playing the two player with Babylon and Egypt and said it was great.

I believe your referring to the post about 7 down.
I just tried it last night as Egypt.
Once I get a few games in I'll post my opinion.
