Hi everyone,

Great information here.

I am a Nigerian Boardgame design. And I just organized the first boardgaming convention in Nigeria which was published in Nigerian's daily newspaper offline and online.

I am really passionate about growing the industry here in West Africa and hope to get one of my 13 games published someday (looking for a publisher).

I try to use an underlining African theme in all my game and people here love to play them especially as they relate to things they are playing.

You can check my blog via www.kayceegames.blogspot.com

Hope to get a publisher soon.

Cool! Africa is a big continent, so I'm not sure if Bao is something you see in Nigeria. I spent some time in Malawi and everyone seemed to know it. Unfortunately, I was there before I had gotten into board games, so I never played it or picked up a board. All I can remember is that is was similar to Mancala, but different.

Welcome! I for one would love to see more games about modern-day Africa, where I'm not a colonial power or a witch doctor. Best of luck with your efforts!

Second that! So much rich stuff to be explored in a theme set there.

That's awesome, best of luck to you. I've been to several different countries in Africa and met some of the warmest, most outgoing people in the world. I can only imagine how fun a game convention would be there!
