It's awesome that folks can get official reprints of the original game now over at Wargame Vault (http://www.wargamevault.com/product/148406/Up-Front-Complete...), and I encourage you to do so.

I have an original copy of the game, but however, I really like the more modern update of the cards that David Muñoz de la Peña produced a few years back, and the wonderful tiles by Matt E. I wanted to make a set for my own use.

So, I went through all the threads, found all the art, and all the errors and updates, and reformatted everything to be print-ready for Game Crafters https://www.thegamecrafter.com/. I'm not selling it there or anything, I just made mine own copy as a "prototype". But, since I did a lot of work prepping the art, I figured I'd share it in case anyone wanted to do the same. Here's what's been done:

* reformatted all cards to poker size, full bleed black borders, 825x1125
* created new deck backs for each country
* create deck backs with and without borders (I recommend without for better printing)
* removed trademarks from the card backs (Game Crafter's won't print it otherwise)
* split all tiles into individual files, with front/back designations
* expanded all tiles to full bleed 3/4 medium square punchouts (300x300)
* inserted colorized versions of cower cards
* Changed German #4 to Schumacher
* Change CC Value on British Rifles (and weapon) to 5
* Corrections on cards #7, #118, #20, #11, #12 from threads here
* For weapon cards, the number following the card is the number of copies
* Added [back] designations to dual sided cards (groups)

And here is the link to dropbox, it's all split up, but drop box will let you zip and download what you need... be warned it's probably 500+MB.

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/15k1p7nn028xvut/AADoNyT2jOYUpBLLx...

Again, I'm not selling this, and I don't have a link to the project you can order from, as I basically am making my own copy for personal use. It's easy enough to upload the art there.

But, in case you are wondering and want to make your own, here's the approximate costs I paid for premium linen with UV coating:

$37.07 base game cards (us/german/russia, group), without counters
$20.15 base game counters (double sided, 3/4")
$22.87 desert warfare expansion (french/italians), with counters
$19.34 banzai expansion, (british/japanese), with counters
$8.99 weapons cards for base game
$6.99 weapons cards for banzai
$6.92 weapons cards for desert warfare
$8.93 greek deck, with weapons cards

They came out great! The counters are really heavy, glossy, and nice and the cards are as good as you'll get anywhere with linen texture and UV coating. Here's some photos:

Beautiful!

My recommendation for storage suitable for such a project; check your local thrift stores for old 3M bookshelf games to be repurposed with new art.

Here's an example of Facts in Five I repurposed for a DIY Dune.

Thanks for sharing Duane. I decided to setup the counters to replace my print and play counters and I am glad I did. It seems in the past I had misunderstood the pricing for custom counters and now see that it is a pretty good deal.

For anyone who tries setting up the counters at Game Crafters, I have a lessons learned for you. I did have some issues uploading the files. I tried sending an entire folders worth of images at one time and the web based interface choked. It didn't tell me explicitly what the problem was so I tried a couple of things and eventually figured out that I could successfully upload 40 images (20 counters/chits) at a time.

Also, I don't see the #1 weapon card for the Americans under the full bleed poker size cards.

Very nice
I love my set
FYI action card number 7
Under number 9 of the RPC should be a 1 and not a 7
Official errata
I had to fix mine a while back and see under your corrected that it wasn't

Great job and thank you!

My recommendation is to anyone wanting this, get it now before anyone or any entity no matter how remotely they feel that they are a legal stake holder in this game's completely f'ed up history gets their legal feelings hurt or doesn't think they are getting their fair share of some pie, whatever that pie may be, and demands that all this be taken down!

The number is how many copies to print (I made a guess, but roughly the number of guys who have that gun). This will be picked up by Game Crafters.

@Michael: I think the way the file name is formatted tells Game Crafter how many to make when you upload the file. If done correctly, you should not have to do anything other than upload it with the rest of the cards and the correct number will be created.

You all should just buy the now legally available version from Wargame Vault.

What is "illegal" about this version? The counters and cards are reskins.... Aren't they?

No one's saying this one is illegal. It's a fan made version. The WGV version has the full blessing of Hasbro and is the only official version you can buy brand new. I have it and it is excellent. I use it with the chit replacement cards and it makes a nice tight set that's easy to travel with. I like the fan version as well. Why not have both?

can you provide a link to the counter replacement cards please? I've been looking for them.

(there was mention of WGV offering the counters as cards and not chits; I've already bought the sheets you cut out)
