Do You Have What It Takes To Accomplish The Impossible?

Games By Ray LLC launching its first game on Kickstarter on October 3rd, 2016

Games By Ray LLC is making its Kickstarter debut this fall by seeking funding for their new game The Hackers Guild. Designed by Raymond Northcott and featuring the art of Jonathan McEnroe, The Hackers Guild is a one versus many, worker placement game for 3-5 players ages 14+ that plays in 150 minutes. Players familiar with Pandemic, To Court a King/Favor of the Pharaoh, and Descent: Journey in the Dark will find familiar mechanics that will help them feel at home when playing The Hackers Guild.

The Hackers Guild is set to launch on October 3rd, 2016 at 11:00 AM CST and will launch with all of the art and design completed. The campaign will feature the game at $49, and will include free shipping for backers in Canada, the US, China, Hong Kong, Australia, and Puerto Rico. Each copy of the game will also come with a 30 day money back guarantee, which gives backers 30 days after receiving their reward to return it for a full pledge refund.

About the Game

The year is 2120 and the world’s population is still trying to overcome the devastation of the worldwide market crash of 2117. Numerous studies have revealed that government corruption and lack of unity among international leaders were leading causes of the crash. As a result, a group of world leaders are now pushing for a single, worldwide government. Monolith Global Inc., an expert in cybernetics, has suggested that the government be run by robots, claiming that “It’s not possible for a robot to become corrupt, and as a result, they will always make the best decisions for the fate of mankind.”

However, a small number of people see this for what it really is — an attempt to enslave mankind. Known as the Hackers Guild, these ragtag freedom fighters are branded as criminals and are living as fugitives from the law.

All reasonable attempts to convince the powers-that-be that they are making a huge mistake have failed. The only option remaining appears to be the destruction of the program from the inside out. However, hacking the company’s network is said to be impossible. Despite this, more and more of the common people are joining in the cause. Time is running out for the guild as they strive to perform the impossible by hacking Monolith Global Inc., destroying their robots, and saving humanity from slavery.

Along the way, players will be able to upgrade their computer hardware and purchase hacking tools that will make the hacks easier to accomplish.

Opposing the team of hackers is Monolith Global's Network Administrator whose sole objective is to thwart the hackers' attempts to take down Monolith Global Inc long enough for the robots to be installed in government.

Along with trying to outsmart the Network Administrator, the hackers also have to evade the authorities and stay out of jail.

The fate of mankind is in your hands, and time is of the essence. Find out if you and your team of hackers have what it takes to save mankind.

Wonderful! Just enough time to completely forget this exists when it's finally available.

Why would you announce it before the kickstarter's even up? shake

My dear friend. May I direct your attention to the "Notify me at launch" button on the kickstarter draft page? I'm confident this could ease your doubts.

One piece of standard practice / good strategy for kickstarters is to announce the launch date ahead of time, to get the word out and expand first-day pledges, which can really help with the reception of the game.
