Good overview (and they don't just dwell on Tesla's failures here):

Nice discussion here.

We are getting close to the theoretical maximum from the current approaches tho (first response in that discussion).

It may be time to look at the nuclear battery option. Of course you will need to rebrand it's name. Nuclear scares the bejesus out of the moonbats.

Nuclear is great. As long as humans are not involved in administration or management of it. Then... not so good. Humans are careful at first... then after a while they cut costs and cut "unnecessary" safety procedures and begin systemically underestimating risk because nothing bad has happened so far.

Doesn't matter if it's business or government. Within a decade or so they'll be shouting down and firing engineers who are raising the risks.

Why? They have very low energy densities for their price. (But roughly comparable to the best batteries in terms of weight.)The fact that the energy levels are maintained for very long periods is their only advantage. The only terrestrial use was Soviet facilities in the Arctic.
They are useful for deep space probes beyond the range of solar cells.
And having lumps of radioactive materials all over the place should concern any sensible person. BTW is Moonbat your word of the week?
