Well, I'm spent. What a privilege it has been. If I had the time, I would have made some videos to answer your questions. That way you could hear me butcher your names.

Thanx to all of you the congratulated me. Thanx for all the questions. And Thanx for the honor, we must do it again....wait! You only do it once?

Well what an honor it was. And now I pass the baton onto someone I feel deserves it, way more than I. A game designer and publish that I feel we will have to watch in the future. Mr Golden Egg himslf. Elad Goldsteen.

Lets hear a few word from him:

Quote:
Few words about myself,

From as far as I can remember - I always loved to play. Born in the 1980’s, I was fascinated by all sorts of new games - video games and whatever very early PC’s you could find over in the Middle-East.
I was saving my allowance to buy any board game, video game I could afford - sometimes it took me 4 full months to do so - but I was eager to game early on.
My family suffered from my tendencies to ask them to play with me at every available second they might spare. As I grew a bit, I found myself bored playing the very few games we could find in the very small country , so I started spending time with an old typewriter…
I started to get a lot of fun out of creating new games, I wrote so many stupid ideas, but even then I took my best ones and tried to explain those ideas to my parents. I was in first grade, and it was very fulfilling for my parents to actually hear and listen to my mumbles. When I was 8, my dad followed through and we created my very first prototype - it was a thing of wonder (for us mainly) but I felt so proud of my Western themed “Wanted - Dead or Alive “ game. I played it a lot with my friends and family and it was really fun. My dad took it a step further and we both flew to Germany to a famous publisher and presented the game. Sadly, without any marketing skills and the vocabulary of a 2nd grade student, we were turned down.
I kept making games, all sorts of them - card, RPG and even an awful text based PC game.
I do not remember the time but at some point, I just stopped doing those things (probably in high school) and focused on my love of sports and Video gaming.

In late 2006, I started reading stuff over the Internet about a new breed of board games.
I was hooked in heart beat - those “new” strategy games sent me back in time and I was starting to gather any piece of information about games - and BGG was the place to do so!

I always had passion to create - so I started getting back to my “old ways” and started to design many board games that I would love to play.
My passion drove me to attend conventions and also to start bombing BG officials with mails about my games. I was lucky to get answers and true guidance - and for those who did - I am still very thankful for their positive and constructive feedback. You can always find kind and generous folks on BGG, many of them I can now call them my Friends (you too Barry).

From 2011-2016 I was involved in the publication of 11 board games. Golden Egg Games is now an established Indie Board game publisher - celebrating our 5th annual Spiel (!) with yet more new games…

I am blessed and thankful to have my games played by BGG’ers and I hope to continue and create more games for our amazing community.

So I will finish by saying, don't buy more games, watch what you eat and if you see me in a crowd...give me a hug. And congratulations Elad.

Questions for you:
Who is your most inspirational designer you'd like be know as?
What game is sat on your gaming table right now?
Do you brush your teeth once or twice a day?

Wow! what a tough question. Probably the USS Enterprise. I love Sci-fi and I saw ALL sci-fi related TV shows (and movies). I am a huge fan of Star Wars as well (as I love Fantasy too).
The Original TV show and the next Generation took me to wild explorations of new planets and weird civilizations. As a child I could not stop watching it.

Congratulations Elad!

So, here is my regular question:

Which existing Board Game (not designed by you) would you've liked to be the designer of? Why?

Have a great week!

Congrats, Elad!!!!

My question is the same as Gili's last question:

Which of the games that you designed did you like best?

I would also like to add: What was it about the design that you liked?

And one more question: Do you tend to design with the mechanics first and then fit the theme or do you fit the mechanics to the theme? Why?

Congrats again, Elad!

Dominion . I think that I could have helped develop a more interesting theme, or at least a more compelling story.

Probably it will be City Council , this is my kind of game. Interactive and social skill based. The way the city automated to react to your council's decision is still very cool.

It is always Theme first. I usually pick a theme and run a research about it (I love this part the most). Than I usually pick from tons of new mechanics that I already worked on, trying to see if they fit and mesh properly.
At the end I always ask myself, do you feel like you are playing a X?
(X could be anything: Roman, Pirate, Sorcerer, etc).

I do - I would love to finally meet you in person.

And that invitation is up for any Spiel goers - I will be at GEG booth (Hall 1 D143).

I really like to meet and say hello to any of my BGG friends.
