I've seen that the Muaat starts not only with 1 warsun, but with the warsun tech too... (yes just -1 movement for malus)
I've found warsuns tremendous! very very very strong! robot
It can be too powerful for a single race I think... Isn't it?
How can I defeat Muaat? Which is the best tactic versus them?

Any advices will be welcome!

Muaat has a warsun but mot much else. The d-cup of doom is really slow and it slows them down in getting to planets early.

If you can get reasonable fleet built early you can take it out. If not ignore it, by the time it gets its speed up to normal other have the war sun tech as well.

now if Muaat were to build a second and then use its racial ability all the time to build DD's and fighters that could be interesting.

Dance around him. Don't face him unless he has his WS alone without escort. When he moves his WS forward, take his planets near HS. With XRD or Stasis Capsules, you can harass him and keep out of range.

Try to avoid him taking Leadership/Logistics (with CCs he can reinforce his WS on the spot), and Tech. If he's clever, he won't go for Deep Space Cannons first. He'll go for Magmus Reactors, as he doesn't need pre-requisites and gives him more benefits. But he needs a lot of resources for that. So try to keep him low on resources and CCs.

That's easier said than done, of course, but if you harass him enough, you'll buy time to tech up and arm yourself to face him before he's fully teched, with 3-moving WS with heavy escort. If he gets to that point, you're toasted. Nothing can stop that. So you should him attack as soon as you have a fleet capable of destroying his. To do that you need:

a) Your own WS with escort.

b) Tons (I mean TONS) of fighters (as he'll probably has Automated Defense Turrets too). 3carriers +18 cybernetized fighters + some Hylared Cruisers should send his 1WS+escort fleet down in flames. Usually he won't put both WS on the same fleet, that makes him the perfect target for a Signal Jam, and makes him unable to cover to flanks at the same time.

In case of need, remember that scientist+PDS make a planet immune to WS bombardment. So use that combination to defend key planets (if you have a scientist, of course).

I tried to do all of the above facing Muaat as Winnu. A lucky Signal Jam, and some deep strikes with Stasis+Cruisers kept him low on resources, so he couldn't tech up. Of course, the war made me suffer me too, so we both ended in quite a poor position (but at least he didn't win ).

I recently played the Embers in a 4 player game. I went for the racial tech fist followed by the Cannons. That made me look pretty impressive but that was all I had. the other three players ignored each other and slammed me. They could not stand up to Dual WS with full compliment of fighters, but my planets were ill defended, and I had to fall back to protect.
It is a race that I want to try again just to see what it can do. I will surely play more defensivly though.

War sun is great if you can get Warfare II first turn and go for that fat planet closer to center of the galaxy. And then you casually take planets closer to you. This seemed like a good plan for muaat in our games, so we started denying him from warfare.
