I don't. People reading the title of this thread will think that you're sharing new information, not asking for it.

Might want to add a question mark at the end of the title to help convey the question, rather than statement.

Re: New Battle Pack
Speaking of which, is there any theater not already covered by the series? I think with Sea Lion they already stretched it a bit into parallel history.
Not that I am complaining about the OP question mind you, any upcoming battle pack would be awesome news, but I feel honestly curious, what else is still left for the game to expand on? I once asked in this forum about african scenarios, but I recall being answered that not many interesting infantry fights took place there, there were mostly combined arms batttles.

Vietnam for pacific?

I too got a bit giddy when I saw the title in the subscription but rather than complain about being 'misled' I'll just enjoy the fact that there still exists game content that can get me all excited

There is already a nice list above, and I would like to add The Russo-Finnish Wars.

Re: New Battle Pack
I'd like to jump on the Russian-Finnish Winter War for Europe bandwagon as well, with a Vietnam module for Pacific as well. Winter white maps in Finland would be particularly awesome, along with some bespoke crisp finnish counters.

I would hope Vietnam would be a whole new game rather than just a battlepack. I also hope they would cleave closer to the design of Europe rather than Pacific since I prefer the higher event frequency, the rally system, and the jam triggers from Europe.

I believe that I read that Vietnam is actually being worked on, but dont quote me because I can't remember where.
And of course there's Great War Commander which will probably be released early 2017

It will be a whole new game, not just a battle pack.

* Vichy French rules/units?
* Soviet march through the Axis Minors

Off the top of my head, for the Chinese you could use Second Line infantry units or Conscripts from the Commmonwealth or US decks, lower discard limits, fewer support weapons. Not sure about the decks though, that might be more problematic. Possibly nullify some Actions like Enfilade ?

I like the idea of Partisans as Chinese (resistance set).

Not to insult these brave soldiers at all, but they lacked so much and relied on strength of will more than government organization.

CCE - Sooo much like others already said.

CCP - same... Guadalcanal, PNG (Papua New Guinea), Chindit ops, Stilwell's campaigns using the Chinese in Burma, Japanese Ops in China + Manchuoko + communists mountain strongholds, Campaigns from the POV of Russia 1945, Japan 1941, Philipines, PNG-Guad, Iwo Jima, and alt-history Japananese Invasion defenses.

I think CCP hasn't been popular enough to sustain additional battle packs.

Really? Wow. I'm happy to be proven wrong!

(But I could swear I remembered Foley back in the day saying that New Guinea hadn't sold enough for GMT to consider doing more.)

But hey, it's good news.

So we've got two new battle packs for CCP, CC: Vietnam, and Great War Commander from those French guys in the pipeline?
It's a great time to be a CC fan.

The Chinese are broken into three factions and would require a big box. The Nationalists (including one division German trained and equipped), Communists, and the remains of a few Warlords. And then you even have X & Y Force in Burma which are British/American trained and equipped. The Chinese were the Russians of the far east and pacific. The battles were epic and they tied down most of the Japanese army which allowed the allies to fight back.

I really want a Chinese expansion.

FYI

So CCP has a better rating of 8.1 vs 7.9 and ranks 4th for a Wargame versus 8th for cce.

Personally I like the mechanics of CCP better, it's less chaotic, but the lack of Pacific factions and maps is a drawback.

I supposed that "popular" meant sales, i.e. people buying and owning it.

Currently on their respective Stats pages, I see that CCE has 5,925 owners

and CCP has 2,443 owners.

In that practical sense, CCE seems clearly more popular.

This rating spike is almost always the case with reimplementations of the same system. People that hated CC:E might rate it, and never try CC:P, and rare would be the person that would jump directly into CC:P. So in a sense, the first game protects the ratings of the successors. Happened with games like Through the Ages and Pandemic Legacy.
