A group of coworkers and I get together twice a week to play boardgames/cardgames at lunch. We play in the cafeteria at work and so we regularly have spectators that observe the games. Often we can convince them to play.

Lately, we have been joined by "Jen" (name changed to prevent beatings) who likes to play but is notorious for not hearing/misunderstanding the rules as we explain them to her. She has always accused us of making up new rules as we go along and often will do inexplicable things in the game because she isn't understanding the results or just wants to screw people up.

We now join our session already in progress...

Jen: Hey guys.

All: Hi Jen.

Jen: I have the perfect game for you. Since you always like to make up new rules, I have a game where you change the rules all the time.

Me: I've heard of that. Seems like some people love it and some really hate it.

John: Let's try it.

Me: How do you play Jen?

Jen: I don't know.

Mike: What do you mean you don't know? Haven't you ever played it?

Jen: Well... No. But it sounds like something you guys would like. I'll read the rules and tell you how it works as we go. Can someone help me shuffle these? They don't want to bend.

Jen: Okay, Uriah, you go first.

Me: Alright, I'll play poison.

Jen: I play a new goal, metamorphosis.

Mike: I play "Play 3"

Jen: Now you have to play 3 more cards.

Mike: no I played 1 so I only have to play 2 more.

John: I think he's right.

Me: Let me see the rules!

Me: Let's settle on some rules we can agree on, wether or not they are right.

Jen: When you play a draw card, you immeadiately get to draw that many cards.

All: That's fine.

John: If you have met the Play condition for the current play rule your turn is over. Agreed?

All: Okay.

Me: Then lets start the game again.

Jen: Now you need to play 4 more.

Me: No, he only needs to play 3 more.

Jen: I don't know about you guys.

John: You know you just let me win?

Jen: Oh I know.

Mike: But you could have seen if you could win, Play all is on the table and you probably have things you could do to win.

Jen: Oh yeah but this is easier. what did you think.

John: I liked it, you just can't get married to your win condition.

Me: It's a good light filler game.

Mike: It's crazy. I still think we were playing wrong.

Me: I agree. Thanks for bringing it Jen.

Jen: I just knew you guys liked changing rules so much that I thought you might like it.

overall a fun game with a huge luck factor. Anyone else have a "Jen" in their group?
