I'm interested to know what people are most looking forward to in terms of small card game releases at Essen? I thought I might pick a couple up and was looking for some recommendations.

I am interested in Coal Baron: The Great Card Game. Not sure if it really small though.

Edit: it looks like it is an Isle of Skye sized box.

Multiuniversum was released earlier this year, but the publisher will be at Essen releasing the first expansion, Multiuniversum: Project Cthulhu.

The game itself is very good and I highly recommend it.

I think there should be Valley of the Kings: Last Rites as well at Essen, I just got the second game in the series and quite like it. The new game seems to have some new mechanics so looking forward to it.

Both are really small (but with enough gameplay depth!) games.

The Amigo card games are always worth a punt, normally priced around 8euros, nice small boxes, and you can get them almost everywhere.

I'll be grabbing these 3 this year:
Freaky
Naova
Schwupps

Pi mal Pflaumen
UGO! - Kosmos version in a smaller box
Abluxxen - slightly larger box

Not sure if our definition of small is the same.

I played the All Hands On Deck prototype a few weeks ago and I really liked it.

Its a shame there isn't more information about it on its game page!

with the preorder discount and cheap international shipping at Sierra Madre Games, the preorders for these (plus Bios: Genesis cost as much as the OLGS price in the states BEFORE shipping.

Isn't the reprint of Arboretum only in German packaging from Abacus?

Maybe you want to check the (German) website: http://kingracoongames.com/work/alle-mann-an-deck. The game itself is language independent.

It's a great game and the cards have no necessary game text
