Hi,

in the scenario section of the rules the fewest characters per team is 6. Is it possible to play with less?

Thanks in advance

Sure. I play 2 platters with teams of 4 for a few games with new players to get the hang of the rules. After that you may want to bump it up.

The beauty of DOA is that it's a sandbox that you can play however you'd like.

Of course, you can play with any number of characters. Why do you want to? If you want a teaching scenario, then just play the Dual scenarios with a smaller number of characters on each side. There will be less interaction and so it might be less interesting, but it will be fine for teaching purposes.

If you want an even smaller scenario that is balanced and interesting, I'd try a Solo layout with just one platter. Try 4 characters per side, 1 random platter, 2 bases, 2 labyrinths, 2 dome keys. For map building, choose the random platter, then alternate adding 1 key each.
