Hi everyone,

Could anyone suggest a few games that are good for 2 players. They don't have to be two player only as I do occasionally get the chance to play games with groups of 3 or 4 but they need to play well with just 2 players as that makes up the majority of my gaming time.

I already have Ticket to Ride, Lost Cities, Odins Ravens, Kingdom Builder, Carcassone, Patchwork and Castles of Burgundy just to give you an idea of the types of games I enjoy.

Thanks.

A superb game for two:

Race for the Galaxy

How about cooperative games?

Like Pandemic

Same situation as you player wise. We enjoy Five Tribes a lot and have been playing Agricola and Quadropolis quite a bit lately too

I like Castles of Mad King Ludwig with two, although others will say it's broken.

Splendor is also pretty good with two, but I've never played with more.

Hive or Hive Pocket would be worth looking at as well.

Cooperative games are usually a good bet for two. My favorite is Ghost Stories.

For competitive gaming:
Onitama
Arboretum
The King is Dead

Hi Dean

Almost all of our games have to be good with two.

Based on the games my partner and I like playing together we would recommend Seasons, Stone Age, lords of waterdeep, Trajan, Bruges, castles of mad King Ludwig, Jaipur, five tribes, splendor and for something light and fun Super Tooth

These are for two players only:

Jambo: This is excellent as-is. The expansions make it even better, but make sure you add both expansions, not just one. (It's a balance issue; you really need both.)

Targi: This is also excellent. There is supposed to be an expansion for this soon.

For two or more:

I recommend Roll for the Galaxy. I like it better than Race for the Galaxy. (Race for the Galaxy also suffered from too many expansions. The first expansion is good. The second is so-so. The third just slows the game down without adding anything worthwhile.)

+1 Five Tribes
+1 7 Wonders: Duel
+1 Seasons

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

I do actually already own Pandemic and it is indeed very good with just two players. I'll watch some YouTube videos of the rest and see which ones pique my interest.

NA very fun and informative geeklist that I highly recommend.

You might be interested in taking a look at this guild: A Couple of Gamers

These are valid for any 2 players btw, not just 'couples'.
