Hello

Essen is just around the corner, just think of all the new hotness waiting to be bought. Well the Oxford Meeples are going and will be bringing as many games as the airport weight limit will allow (it will be more like what wallet will allow). What's more we are holding another Big day of Gaming on the 12 Nov 2016 at Wolvecote Village Hall so that everybody can join in on some belated Essen fun and games.

Gaming starts at 10:30 am and will be going until late well 10pm ish.

Entry is free, although donations towards rent of the hall and refreshments will be appreciated.

Children are welcome when accompanied by an adult.

There is no parking at the village hall itself, but parking is available on street along Godstow Road, Wolvercote Green and off Godstow Road opposite the hall. Number 6 buses are available from Oxford city centre to Wolvercote every 15 minutes during the day.

Simple refreshments will be available (tea, coffee, cake, etc...), but you will need to provide your own lunch and/or dinner. There are pubs, a Chinese and a chippy nearby.

Hope to see you there.

Well, I start a new job in Oxford next month but won't be there for the weekends, at east to begin with. I'll go and have a look at your website.

Check out Oxford on Board on meetup or Facebook, we meet during the week most of the time.

There are some other meetup groups as well.

Thanks Keith. I'm not on Facebook but I'll have a look at the Meetup page. Is there anything else I should know about Oxford (apart from Thirsty Meeples, obviously)?

Get a pint and some pork crackling in The Kings Arms on Broad Street.
Take a look around the Ashmolean Museum.
Have a walk in the University Parks
Get a cookie from Ben's and a Milkshake from Moo Moo's in the Covered Market.

You missed out on ice cream at one of the G&D's shops. (On Little Clarendon Street, St Aldates, or Cowley Road -- do they have any others?)

If you have transport, don't forget about the other local groups outside the city either. There is a list on our website:

Good luck with your move,

Thanks, I'll have a look. Although I'll be working in Oxford (and probably living there in a b&b or similar during November) I'll actually be living in Silverstone and commuting by car.

Hi Jerry

Hope to see you Saturday.

I wouldn't mind having a go at Human Interface, if I get the chance. Is the Exiled any good, we had a very garbled demo at Essen.

Ok cool.

The exiled seems good but not had a chance for competitive play yet, definitely feels siege like.

for a euro its quite thematic.

Thanks to Andy and everyone else for a really enjoyable day.

I played Pandemic Iberia, Sheriff of Nottingham, Scythe, Push It, Small World, Ulm, and All Hands on Deck, making for a very entertaining and varied session. Looking forward to the next one.
