Not including card games. Games focused around a board but with loads of cards like Arkham Horror has 771 cards in total. Relic has like 336.
I like Arkham Horror a lot. It's long though so we don't play it often.
Relic I like less but it's alright.

Do you know any games with loads of cards? How many cards? Do you like the game?

Thanks zombie

Shadows of Brimstone: City of the Ancients seems to have a million cards, but I have both base sets and several expansions. In all, its probably around ~600-700 cards (one base set has about 250). The cards make up about 20 different decks as well. I do like it.

As does Arkham Horror...

Minus expansions, as later clarified...

Scythe lists 42 combat cards, 23 objective cards, 28 encounter cards, 12 factory cards, 5 riverwalk (reference) cards, 5 quick start (also reference) cards, 19 Automa (solo AI) cards, 4 Automa star tracker cards (also used for solo), and 8 Automa reference cards (reference cards for solo play), for 146 cards, total.

Which obviously pales in comparison to some of the games also listed in the thread, but is more cards than the card driven games I've played. And, in fact, most non-deckbuilder card games.

How many do games like Magic: The Gathering and Dominion have with all expansions?

(Personally I prefer games where all components are known to the players.)

The very first words on the post are "not including card games."

In my library, I'd say Eldritch Horror and Defenders of the Last Stand are in the lead, each just shy of 200 in the base game.

I'll add Dead of Winter: A Crossroads Game to the discussion instead: 329 cards (347 with expansions).

Firefly: The Game base game has:

5 Supply Decks - 25 Cards Each
5 Contact Decks - 25 Cards Each
2 Nav Decks - 40 Cards Each
Misbehave Deck - 40 Cards
11 Set Up Cards
4 Ship Cards
6 Story Cards

Not including the larger Set Up, Ship and Story Cards, that equals 370 cards.

There's also 150 bills in currency.

EDIT: And yes, I love the game, but I do wish I had a larger table to play it on.

Arkham Horror has a lot, as mentioned. A Touch of Evil and Eldritch Horror come second and third in my smallish collection.

Gloomhaven beats that. At last count it will have a total of 1698 cards in the base edition.

Out of curiousity, what's the criteria?

Does a game that has a board but is still primarily a card game eligible? Is Legendary a board game or a card game?

Do the cards have all have to be played with each game? Again, in Legendary you can have hundreds of cards, but will only play with a few of them each time? Which count...um...counts?

What if the cards form a board, such as in Smash-up?

Do the cards all have to be in one stack? What if each player has a deck of cards?

What if the cards don't really function as cards? For example, someone brought up mega civilization, but most of those cards are really just commodities in card form, and don't get played as cards. Does this count?

Pete (thinks this problem is not well defined)

And don't forget the original trivial Pursuit: 1000 cards, and each expansion contained 1000 cards.

Oh, and Statis Pro Football had around 50 players for 30 or so teams (not sure how many teams there were when they stopped), plus 100+ Action Cards and a handful of others. So 1600+.
