Hi,

The rule book doesn't seem to say how you decide the initial turn order. Am I missing something? What do you do to decide initial turn order?

Just to be clear - I know how the turn order works once the game is going.

Cheers!

You bid
(And prior to that, you randomly place the pawns to determine the order in which players bid.)

I *think* it says to randomly place the pieces on the turn order track.

I haven't played for a while, but I vaguely remember it saying to do that in the rules.

EDIT:ninja'd with the correct answer. Ya, what Aernout said

Yeah, you put them randomly. What I always do is throw the player pieces in the bag once the meeples are set up and just put them on the track based on that for initial bidding order.

Thanks for the quick replies everyone!

Once we had another look at the rules we saw it on the setup page to "randomly determine first player" - we'd just overlooked it.

It's not my game so I was just asking for a friend who hadn't noticed that obviously.

Cheers!

Actually, all of the previous response were incorrect.
The Turn Markers are randomly placed on the Bid Order Track.
Once you are ready to start the game, you then bid on who will go first.
The randomness of the Turn Marker placement only accounts for who will make the initial bid, to start the game, first.
You can find this under "Setting up the game" on page 2, and "Game Turn" on page 3 of the instruction manual.
I hope this helps. I also thought the same as everyone else, but after not having played in a couple of months, I wanted to refresh myself with the rules and stumbled across this.

Thankfully, the first response from Aernout already had this covered.
