Can anyone confirm how many buttons there are in the game?
I'm planning to get hold of some real buttons as replacements!

Thanks

Nice idea!

1 special tile (7x7 bonus)
32 1 button tiles
12 5 button tiles
5 10 button tiles
1 20 button tile

patchwork rules

Maybe you could use Different sized buttons for the different values, or different colors.

Awesome - thanks

That was my idea - bigger buttons for 5 / 10 / 20

Also, we've never got remotely close to using all the buttons, so you may not need as many.

Yeah, I have never needed to use the 20 button tile. I mean, we COULD have used it, but we've never NEEDED to--if you add up all the button values (excluding the 20) you end up with 142, and there's no way you'll need more than that

Seems the cheapest way to do this might be to buy a bulk of mismatched buttons. Which i quite like the idea of (it's patchwork after all, which is far from uniform!)

I'm thinking it would be cool to put thread through bundles of 5 and 10 now too, rather than bigger / smaller (since the buttons will be mismatched, it'd be harder to distinguish!)

I've seen people sew together stacks of 5, 10, and 20 like this. The effect is quite nifty.

That's a great idea! I was planning on grabbing some buttons for this game with bigger buttons for higher values but sewing groups together would be clearer and more thematic I think.

I created the product so you should only need one bag. However, you'll only be working with 2 denominations with these buttons, which works just fine for the game.

Oh, I wish this info was available at the store. I already purchased 2 sets b/c the different number count threw me.

You've played it enough and not run out of buttons?

I got a pack of little buttons, 50 I believe, a pack of six bigger, shiny buttons for the fivers, and six big fat ones for the tens. Works fine so far, and you could probably get away with fewer singles but the pack of fifty was a nice cheap option.

It's silly, but it's so much more fun playing with real buttons.

Received my buttons from the BGG store this morning (together with some Tzolk'in skulls to pimp Lords of Waterdeep: Scoundrels of Skullport). It does add something
