I'm still memorizing the rules and have watched a few videos on this game, just wondering if it would really take away that much to not use the black cat? (and skip that step at the start of course)
It seems like there are only 2 cards that can get rid of it, and you can't play a card on yourself, so if you get one of those 2 cards then there is only 1 card - and then that player would have to choose you out of everyone to remove it. Seems like one person stuck with a large disadvantage from the start (and likely through the whole game). Or maybe I'm missing something.
Who the black cat card gets played can sometimes reveal a lot of information. When we play, we usually try to work semi-collaboratively to curse the black cat off the player. If someone is holding the curse card, we assume that they might be a witch. If you know someone is a witch, scapegoating the black cat onto them can maybe kill them before the witch card spreads. If used correctly, it can be a very powerful card.
