I am confused about the unlocking a gate rules. I believe I understand the code-breaking procedure, which costs an action per player involved.
However, after the section describing how to do this, there is a rule that states:
"For one action token, a player may also unlock a gate from an outer to an inner ring without the code."
I want to be sure I understand this. A code is needed to move through a gate from an inner ring to an outer ring, but only one action (no code, no cards) is needed to open a gate from an outer ring to an inner ring.
Is this correct?
I guess the gates are only locked on one side to prevent the prisoners from escaping. If they want to run back towards the prison cells, they shouldn't be impeded.
