Hey everyone.

Just wanted to drop in a say that - at least for me and my brother - this game is far from dead. I've been playing for a few years, but lately I've been hooked. I've spent hundreds on it this year and I'm trying to get caught up. I'm up current up to the Angmar Awakened cycle (and have all the Saga boxes). Grey Havens is next.

I hear (mostly from the Grey Company podcast) that people -- especially on this board -- are often asking or stating that this game is dying. Doesn't feel like it to me! And looking at RingsDb.com.... there is a ton of activity!

I'm local to Denver and go to the Wizard's Chest when I can. Hit me up if you are looking to play.

Ok that's it for my rant.

Honestly, at this point it seems like a lot of the "game is dying" stuff is sort of tongue-in-cheek, as a way to mock the people who actually do seem to always question the state of the game.

Most people (including FFG) agree with you. The game is still selling well, and releasing some of it's best content ever.

At least this game isn't dying like the new Arkham Horror game is.

Given that it is barely released (I don't have my copy yet), I will wait and see.

This is possibly the best reply I have seen on a thread, ever.

I just bought 2 cycles and a saga the other day. I hope to nearly complete my collection come Christmas. This is the type of game I'm going to play for many years and it will never become outdated.

The game has been dying for about 5 years, and it might be dying for another two while releasing monthly packs. Then it might be another three years of dying while they reprint it due to popular demand (there's always more than one LotRLCG product in the reprint queue). After that we'll see.

New players have this list of potential purchases:
-The core game
-Deluxe expansions and related cycles
-The sagas
-Standalone scenarios
-Nightmare decks

Then you gotta play. Nobody has time for all of that, but I'm sure we all try :)
