Are there any ideas on an appropriate mechanism for bidding on shops?
We played the game once and it seems that it would be a great family game if there is a way to improve the bidding system.

Hi I am the designer, are you trying to use the variation 2 for your game?

Hi Scandnavik,
Regarding the aution variant in the rules, we weren't sure whether the highest bid means:
1. Being the furthest on the scoring ladder, or
2. In a gameround, having moved the most steps on the scoring ladder.
These two might be the same at the beginning of the game, but don't have to be further in the game.

The auction is just for the 1st round, which means your 1st understanding is what we trying to do with this variation.
