My meetup group, the Ventura County Strategy Boardgamers is holding two days of free, open gaming over the Thanksgiving weekend. The events are in Oxnard and Ventura in Sunny Ventura county just northwest of Los Angeles.

These two DOGs (Days of Gaming) are free, open gaming for all types of tabletop games; board games, card games, minis, and RPGs.

A wide variety of games will be played: family games, long strategy games , goofy games, dexterity games, party games and lots more. Beginners are welcome, we can teach you fun and challenging games, just bring yourself and the willingness to have some fun.
Feel free to bring your favorite games.

Snack and drinks will be available for a small cost, there are plenty of food establishments nearby for when you start getting peckish.

Please RSVP or post here if you plan to attend, so we know the numbers.

--------------------

FATDOG 2016 is on the Friday after Thanksgiving in Oxnard.

More details can be found in the meetup event

DOGCAT 2016 is on next day, Saturday, in nearby Ventura.

More details can be found in the meetup event

PLEASE NOTE: DOGCAT is a peanut-free event. Please do not bring peanuts or foods containing peanut products on the premises in order to keep the space safe for gamers with peanut allergies. This includes Asian foods (which are often cooked with peanuts and/or peanut oil), Chick-Fil-A and Domino's Pizza (both of which cook their food in peanut oil). Thank you

Here are a sample of the food choices available nearby: Fresh Burrito, Taco Bell, Just BBQ, Cronies Sports Grill, Pizza Hut, Wendy's, Marie Callender's, IHOP, Pizza Man Dan's

We are newbie friendly and will have plenty of fun and challenging games at hand. You don't need to own or know any games !
