Do openings on underground rooms count as exterior entrances? The rules don't specify. I claim that they do because they could come out in a cave, have a trap door that goes to the surface, or even be a walkout basement. My friend claims they are underground so there is no way to exit. His argument is based on the fact that if you were to build a staircase up from the basement room, that wouldn't count as an external entrance, so why should the opening without a staircase built on it.
We argued this for hours last night, even though this time there were no points involved.
Short answer: yes they are exterior entrances.
