This module replaces the standard Grain Sacrifice option for the game.

Components: 4 x shrine building (one per player colour), 9 x Sacrificial Blessing tokens (3 per benefit, identical backs)

Each player receives a shrine at the beginning of play. These are treated as buildings, with a cost of [2 workers + 1 stone] to bring into play, and may only be built on spaces marked with the ‘Magical Place’ symbol. They award 2 MP (point of power) for control of an Island.

Only after a harvest shrine has been built may a player take the amended Grain Sacrifice option on their turn. If there are any Sacrificial Blessing tokens available, a player may take a single random token into their hand – this does not count as a resource. If there are no tokens currently available, a player may not take the action. There are two potential benefits awarded through this action:

- Weather Influence: A player may move the weather token ONE space to the left or right, OR spend to trigger a severe weather effect when it is their turn. May not be used the same turn as any other ‘Magical Place’ event is triggered.
- Protection: A player may spend the counter to save one building that would be destroyed by a severe weather effect, which is returned to their hand and may be built again on the same site UNLESS it is cultivated with another resource before the player is able to commit to its rebuild. This may be spent at any time, with the token placed on the appropriate space, returned to the available Sacrificial Blessings pool only when the site is redeveloped one way or the other.
- Fortuna: The player may swap their resource pool with any other player.

I designed this module primarily to offer a degree of mitigation to the HUGE loss that severe weathers take on buildings. It seemed like a thematically appropriate development of the standard option provided, and the limited number / randomised nature of the Blessing counters allows for a degree of tactical opposition (and bluffing).

I have been using the idols from Tobago as substitute shrines, and am currently designing some proper counters which I shall upload at some later point.

Thanks for your contribution. Would be nice having a PDF with examples and so on.
