Can anyone give tips about how best to make your own cards or to print ones that are the ideas of others? I am not very artistic.
Typically, printing on cardstock is a good way to go. I've used my inkjet printer at home to do that, or placed an order with a printer such as FedEx Office or the like, choosing glossy cardstock and full color printing.
Alternatively, print on plain paper, cut into card-sized rectangles, and slide the paper into card sleeves that contain playing cards (or Magic cards, etc) as backing.
But in the case of Onitama, you can do what I did for my home-made version: Take advantage of the fact that the publisher has released a handsome set of gold-foil game cards as a promo replacement set.
