Event card 19, Transmission Problems, says that the car with the most Transmission markers receives another Transmission marker and if there is a tie, all tied cars get the extra marker.

This event displays a yellow flag which would result in a Safety Zone. The affected car, which determines where the Safety Zone is on the track, is defined as the car that receives the first result on the card.

How do you determine a Safety Zone when there is more than one car affected and they are in different sectors?

I played it as simply having the Safety Zone start 5 spaces before one affected car and end 5 spaces after the other affected car (in running order).

Was that right?

It would be the first car in running order that is the focus of the safety Zone.

The card states all tied cars get the extra marker. The rules book for this card states that a tie results in a Team Draw.

Same case for the card Engine Problems - card says all tied cars, rules book says team draw.

Should we follow the cards or rule book?

Thanks!
