On page 6 German Info 7 LW Fld DIV A21.06 2-1-6 LW MORTAR CO (4/I) Shouldn't that be set up on the Hill in hex A 22.06? And not the dale?

Especially since the rules make a point of holding them thar hills!

It's a mortar unit with a low defense rating and is still in a hill terrain hex. It's better behind the front and barrage using spotters.

Ah! But NOT a Hill TOP hex?

I was thinking that only the actual HILL TOP hex with the hill tops height listed was the only hill top for the 6 hex range spotting.

Looks liked the rules don't separate the HILL and the HILL TOP when it comes to Barraging and Spotting.

And what you said about mortar positions in actual combat is what I was thinking also.
