Hi, I'm wanting to get some opinions or suggestions on the names of the guilds featured in my card game.

The game is set in a fantasy medieval kingdom. The names I have been using for play testing at ; the crown, forest dwellers, and outlaws.

The Crown consists of a king and his closest friends who he has also knighted. Together they rule the kingdom with an iron fist eliminating anyone who stands in their way.

The forest dwellers are a group of misfit outcasts who have been banished from the kingdom and have been forced to live in the only place not controlled by the Crown which is an enchanted forest.

The outlaws are a group of bandits and thieves who see themselves as the Robin hoods of their time. They have managed to evade any of the kings forces with guerilla tactics and hiding away.

Any feedback of the names is welcomed.

Well the names are certainly appropriate. But I'll throw in some options so you can decide if you like A vs. B.

1. Crown = The Force Noble
2. Forest Dwellers = The Unwanted Free
3. Outlaws = The Reckoners ("There will come a reckoning...and we're it")

the crown:
iron order, tree of iron, sentinels of the realm, burning light

forest dwellers:
Greenmen, disciples of the leaf, druids, gardeners

outlaws:
light hands, godspeed, the network, mice and men, grain givers, dusters, the smoke

so how fantasy is your game, do you want that to be reflected in these names? Do you want the names to be overtly threatening or any type of specific tone?

If you want to sell this game as a seriously medieval fantasygame, you might want to skip the guildreference and go with: nobles, settlers and outlaws. That would be the right medieval names. Guild would be more like unions and schools for cityfolks.
