Hi everyone!

I've just picked up Roll for the Galaxy second hand and I've realised that one dice seems to be missing.

I have 13 instead of 14 brown / rare elements dices.

What I would like to know is how much of an issue this is going to be, considering I haven't played yet so I can't really judge on that specific point.

Thanks!

The only stupid question... is the one you don't ask!

The game comes with 1 die for every tile that provides you with a die.

So if you play a game that somehow ends up having all brown tiles come out, then yes it will become an issue. But that will be a very rare occasion.

Missing a white die is the only issue. I've never had a game where we took up all of any other color.

And even then, I'm hearing you can just substitute a standard d6* and transpose the results. Either of the 2 have been suggested...
1 = Explore
2 = dev
3 = settle
4 = consume/trade
5 = produce
6 = explore

or have 1 and 2 as I, and bump up everything else by 1.

* white is a common color, and standard size should still fit in the cup. Even though it's bigger than the game's included dice, having only 1 of them should be fine.

1 brown die missing? You'll never notice it....especially if you play at lower player counts.

My recommendation: Do nothing and forget you ever counted the dice.

Yep this. One of my purple dice was damaged (chipped corner). They sent one out to me no questions asked. Great service indeed.

They usually send stuff free of charge if it's their mistake. (My new copy was missing a tile, and they sent it free, no questions asked.) If a secondhand copy is missing parts, there's usually a small fee (it has always been around $4, I think).

I don't think you'll miss the die.
