Do any of you play Arcadia alone, with only a single player? If so, what rules or variants do you use? What do you like and not like about it?

If not, why not?

I mostly play Arcadia with another player, but would like to play more alone too. So far, though, I've found the "official" solo rules to be a little lacking--the game becomes mostly one of luck and chance, and there isn't much strategy involved in completing your Quest.

I'd be nice to hear from others how they play solo, and what they find works and does not quite work.

I just found a bunch of these cards in a box on my game shelf. I came looking to see what I could do with them. If there are solo rules, I'd like to give it a try

I did a google search and found the Wyld Hunt blog which includes some solo rules...

http://arcadiaccg.blogspot.com/2011/06/solo-variant-legend-o...

It appears the blog may be by the original designer. In the most recent post, he mentions, earlier this year, that he plans to release a "fan expansion". This expansion is apparently the story that was going to be released next after the King Ironheart's Madness. Disclaimer: This last paragraph is based off a quick skim so I may have much of it wrong.

There are indeed solo rules; see here for more on those: https://arcadiaccg.wordpress.com/rules-variants/solo-play/

Jackalwere's blog (which you linked to) is a fan site (like my own). White Wolf had planned a third expansion, but stopped producing CCGs before they got there. The expansion Jackalwere is planning is his own (he's created cards for other games as well; see http://guardiansccg.blogspot.co.uk/ ).

If you want to learn more about the game, you might also be interested in my own site: https://arcadiaccg.wordpress.com/

As I mentioned, I'm currently experimenting with solo variants. I'll be writing about them soon over there.

I've always played it solo (I've never had opponents for it! ). I think I just made up my own rules to do it. I should break out my cards and try one of these solo versions!

I'd be interested in hearing how you played it solo. What rules did you follow/create/modify, if you did not follow any of the solo variants I mentioned in my earlier post?

Also, if you try out the above solo variants, what do you think of them? What do you like and dislike?

To be honest, it's been so long (I played when the game was new!) I don't recall how I handled it, or what I did .

I'll definitely look at what's available though when I have some time to play
