To all those who follow X-Wing but don't do so on Reddit or the FFG forums: The world championships are currently happening, and FFG is streaming games on Twitch. The next match (top 8) will be in 15 minutes on here:

I have to admit, I'm looking at #15 with a little bit of sadness.

Also I didn't see it but from what I heard the Final match was a tough loss for Kevin Leintz. Corran got one shot by Dengar. Any other time, it happens, but in the Final Match of the World Championship you hate to see it.

#15 is really high still, out of hundreds of the world's most dedicated players - but yeah, I was hoping for a fourth time in a row as well

I saw the match, and the game was over really quick indeed. Kevin Leintz had really cool games on stream in his top 16 and top 8 matches and properly outmaneuvered everything there and dismantled the low-PS Palp "Aces", it really was disheartening to see Corran go so early in the final. That game was pretty much over after 10 minutes. The other streamed matches were much more exciting that way.

Personally, I'm happy that the world champion isn't from the US this time though (although I wouldn't have been angry about a US world champion of course). Shows that there's an international community, too

I'm sorry, I had to read that again...

Because it looks like a 2-ship list with an A-Wing made Top 4.

What timeline is this?!?!

To paraphrase Robin Williams in Jumanji "what wave is it?"

People say that the meta was really diverse. Maybe more diverse than previous, but I don't really feel like it's that diverse. I mean, it just seems to be:

-Jumpmasters
-Shadowcaster
-Palp Aces
-Palp Defenders
-Rebel Regen
-TLT's

There is the odd Bro Bot, Tie Phantom, or Ghost list in there, but not that many.

Call me a fuddy duddy.

Was anybody running Tomax Bren or any bombers? I didn't see any lists that were but maybe I'm wrong.

I'm pretty sure there weren't any Punishers. I don't even remember the last time I saw a Pun on the table in a *casual* game.

It does at least seem a little better than back when something like 50% of all squad points in a tournament were YT-1300.
