(1) The Historical Scenario lists starting areas for all units except the various types of Strong Points. What should the actual, historical deployment of the various Strong Points be?

(2) Area 59: Do I understand this correctly? The Syrian "Moroc" unit is treated as an INF unit. Say it attacks a "armor" Strong Point. The Modifiers would be -1 for the Assault, -3 for Terrain, and -1 for the Strong Point acting like a field works. In other words it only hits on an automatic "1" roll. Is that correct? Why in the world does the Syrian player attack this space?

Many thanks! Great fun!

Because they need it, and the strongpoint can't hit that hard so they're not risking much.

The Strongpoint and Ghost units are placed by the Israeli player at the player's own discretion! The only restriction is one of these per area. Most players seems to prefer to shuffle them and place them face-down so it's uncertain to both sides their actual strength!

For a rough historical setup regarding Strongpoints and Ghost units use the following (north to south):
Area/Unit
59/Rifle (Green)
57/Rifle (Veteran)
50/Tank (Veteran)
49/Ghost
48/Tank (Elie)
40/Ghost
30/Tank (Elite)
30/Ghost
29/Rifle (Green)
29/Tank (veteran)
27/Rifle (Veteran)

As far as the Moroccan unit in area 59, the Syrians had to put pressure all along the border in order to split Israeli forces!
