I just saw WEMs video and as an escape room fan (real ones and boardgames) i would love to know more about Unlock.

Will Unlock really only have cards and finding numbers + combining them or are there other objects to interact with like small puzzles etc?

Are they replayable by others or only once and never again as something will be folded or cut out?

W Eric martin. It is on the bgg (board game geek) front page and their youtube account.

I love these types of games. The ones from Kosmos are my favorite so far, but I cannot wait to try these out as well.

Christian,

I'm not seeing the video. I went to find it on YouTube, but no luck.

I found a W. Eric Martin, whose page has game videos, but only five, and none were about "Unlock!".

1) Is that the right name? "W. Eric Martin"?
2) Did you mean this video is on the BGG front page, or a link to WEM is?
3) Did you actually mean the BGG front page, or the main page for this game?

Basically: Where's this video?!

Cheers,
MJ

Hey all, we played a demo of this back at GenCon and I confirm (as of what we played) it's just cards and an app.

The deck is 60 or so cards, the backs of them are numbered (not 1-60, but numbered from 1-100 or so).

The app has a feature to "enter a code" that allows you to do some puzzle-type things. I don't want to give anything away from the demo in case it makes it into the training scenario, but the puzzles were not dissimilar to some of the lighter TIME Stories puzzles. The puzzles take place entirely on the cards; you have to figure out what the correct result would be and then enter it into the "enter a code" input on the app. Correct code gives you a good result, and an incorrect code likely gives you a penalty!

We talked about our demo playthrough on our podcast (under the working title "59:59 Project") in this episode:

#26: Gen Con 2016 wrap-up and Interviews with Jamey Stegmaier & Sun King Brewing

...if you're interested in more details!

Anyway, it's awesome and I'm so glad this thing is coming out next year!

Well i'll give it a try. But so far nothing has beaten the kosmos exit rooms for me. Not Stargaze Manor nor noris escape the room the game.
So hopefully there will be more meat on the next ones.

Agreed! Kosmos were the most enjoyable for us but I have some faith in Unlock!
