To knock it off?

Or is this what they want?
CERTAINLY they should be condoning this right?
This is what they warned everyone about Trump supporters doing if Trump lost right?

Should they actually be telling protesters to knock it off? Rioters are legit to tell to quit, but telling peaceful protesters to quite exercising their rights seem a bit meh.

They should be, and it is dumb for them not to be.

Not sure why the whole question shouldn't be asked on the subject line though.

Fuck yeah! I mean, shouldn't Ford told those American Nazi party members they should have just stayed home instead of marching through the streets of Skokie, Ill., where a lot of Holocaust survivors lived? I mean, shit, it's fine to protest, unless you piss people off or say something unpopular or question the government's actions or something, something, something.

Telling people to not be racist assholes is different than asking people not to exercise their First Amendment right to peacefully assemble and seek a redress of their grievances.

And "rioters" are breaking the law, and thus have abrogated their First Amendment rights to assemble and protest. The cops should lock them up.

What would hillary and obama be saying if Hillary had won and the deplorables were out protesting and rioting?
Wouldn't we be hearing from them how the country has spoken?

That is a real stretch. The current rioting is doing far more damage, both to actual property and to the credibility of those protesting.

The FBI? The 82nd Airborne? US Marshals? There is no federal "police."

None of these "riots" are occurring in Bumfuck, Idaho. They're in major metro areas with plenty of cops. Seems to me the local cops are going out there to arrest the rioters.

For all the crap you get on these boards I do think you have a valid point here. What would the response be if the "deplorables" were trashing cities and causing mayham after losing the election? Hell, we already had one member of RSP say that he would be very happy if president elect Trump is assassinated.

Did all of you just FORGET about Hillary and the left claiming those Trump deplorables were going to go out and riot and be violent when Trump lost?
So when their side ends up doing the exact thing they warned us that the other side will do, they remain silent?

Yeah but youre doing the exact same thing that Trump supporters cried about, marginalizing millions of people due to the actions of a few.

The same reaction I always have with rioters.

Arrest people breaking the law. Bam. Easy.

C'mon, people, just because it's Dashi doesn't mean we have to be obtuse. For the protestors, it would be prudent to make a public statement to the effect that the aggrieved get involved in the process , get the vote out, and protest at the ballot box in 2 years and 4 years. For the rioters, straight out condemnation.

Without alleged voter fraud of some kind, the protests will be more productive after Trump actually does something, y'know? What are they hoping to accomplish? The only minor benefit protests may have now, is to temper Trumps early days so people don't think that they will just let him do whatever he wants. That could be a valid reason, but much of the idiotic protesting and all of the rioting just comes across as sour grapes right now.

If it were a Democracy, everyone would have an equal voice, and Hillary would be president since she got over one million more votes than Trump.

Well, I mean that's sorta the foundation of change. You whine because things didn't go your way. It's hella obnoxious when they whiners are against your entirely informed and absolutely correct beliefs, but handy when the idiot majority picks something so fundamentally stupid you can't believe those mouth breathers are part of the same species as you.

Basically, see any hot button topic that has had the issue (currently) go one way or the other. Gay marriage, abortion, etc.

I would say yes, but rioting is wrong in any context. Committing violence against anything but someone or something that commits violence on you is just plain dumb.

Er... no? I didn't even say anything close to that. I'm just pointing out the general logic of favoring and disliking protests: "we" are right, "you" are wrong.
