7 Wonders Duel at #7. I get it - it's irony. Scythe clips off a piece of the top 10. SW: Rebellion is at its apogee according to my estimate. Mars ascends in the eastern sky. Mansions knocks on the door of the top 50. I could literally do this all day.

Have a good week.

I don't understand why 7 wonders duel is so high.. I mean, it has a great design, but the gameplay doesn't feel that great

Not sure if it's slowing somewhat. There was a steep ascent between Fields of Arle and Lords of Waterdeep.

Strong selection bias. People who buy/play/rate 7WD tend to be people who already knew they liked 7 Wonders. Most sequel/franchise/IP based games get a boost from this effect, including five of the top ten. (Still, 7WD is a pretty good game. Just not #7.)

Plus it's kind of a consensus game with very few haters (but few real lovers as well). Since BGG ranking rewards a low standard deviation, this might be another reason for such a high rank.

Scythe was hyped as anything coming out this year and thus it had a rather large initial print run, and there was goodwill built up from Viticulture. If Rosenberg is helping you make an essential edition, you are doing something right. Terraforming Mars's issue right now is that it is between print runs and the first one sold out quickly. It will likely need a third print run in order to meet demand.
