So I'm playing solo as Daisy, and have just taken my third action which was a failed investigation. I'm then about to play "working a hunch", which is has keyword fast and can only be used during my turn.

So has my turn already ended or can I use it after my last failed investigation skill test?

Thanks!

I think you can play it. From the rules reference:

Pg. 23 - Investigation Phase
2.2.1 Active investigator may take an
action, if able. If an action was taken,
return to previous player window. If no
action was taken, proceed to 2.2.2.

Pg. 11 - Fast
A fast asset may be played by an investigator
during any player window on his or her turn.

My understanding:

You have a player window after every action in your turn, at which point you check to see if you have more actions to take. After your third action is completed you would not have another action, but you still go to that player window. See timing chart on 23 of the RR and note the text "If an action was taken, return to previous window."

You can play your "play only during your turn" fast card after your third action, before your turn formally ends.

Before, between and after each of your actions is a player window. Any player may use these for triggered abilities and the active player (you) may use them for things which do not cost actions, such as putting a card into play that has the “FAST” text on it.

Page 11 of the Rules Reference has all the information about the FAST effect.
