If Trample is ever released in an expansion or reprinted for some reason, I have a suggestion.

Change the description to:

Trample: Every time after this species takes food from the Watering Hole, remove food from the Watering hole equal to this species' body size.

Seems more thematic and realistic. A massive trampling herbivore is going to do more damage than a diminutive one. Plus it adds a fun mechanic.

North Star Games designs party games that don't suck! Play them with your non-gamer friends over the holidays.

First there was Hearts, then there was Spades, and now we bring you Clubs. The suit of clubs finally gets some respect!

We considered that option but decided it would be over-powered on a large species.

We also considered (and almost printed) the option of removing food equal to half the Body Size rounded up. In fact, that's what I wanted! But the leveler heads in the room pushed for simplicity and as a rule of thumb, simplicity is almost always better.
