Prologue

March 11th, 2001

The President of Egypt dies under mysterious circumstances.

July 12th, 2001
Following a disputed election, Amjad al-Jabal is sworn into the Egyptian government. Amjad's stance is one with the enemies of the United States of America, and is preparing his nation ruthlessly for a coming invasion of Israel - Wipe out the Land of Zion and Jerusalem once and for all...

September 25th, 2001
After the 9/11 terrorist attacks, during a booming speech, Amjad had declared war upon Israel and began inciting the Egyptian military with religious fervor to take up arms. In league with Amjad, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad mobilized the Syrian military to strike at Israel. On public television, he declared, "The Israeli menace shall bear the consequences of their actions, past, present, and future."

Washington D.C. - 2200 Hours
-Recorded Phone Call between the President of the United States (POTUS) and General Lewis Donahue-

POTUS [Picks up the phone]: Hello?

General Lewis Donahue: Mr. President, General Donahue at the Pentagon here. We have a situation developing in the Mideast... It seems that Egypt and Syria have declared war on Israel.

POTUS [incredulous]: Egypt and Syria, you say? I thought those nations condemned Al-Qaeda's attack--

Gen. Donahue: ...Our worst fears have been confirmed, President Jabal is linked with Al-Qaeda. He merely condemned Al-Qaeda to save face with the UN, and he's reeled Assad into attacking our allies.

POTUS: I'll be heading to the Pentagon shortly, what are our closest assets at this time? We can't afford to stretch our forces too thin before we hunt down Osama bin Laden.

Gen. Donahue: SOCOM reports that the USS Theodore Roosevelt is nearest to Israel at this time.

POTUS: Alright. I'll be over with further instructions. [Hangs up]

Day 01 - Target #60: Carrier Defense
October 13th, 2001
By the time the Teddy Roosevelt arrived with a USMC and Army-Airborne Rapid Deployment Force (RDF) with a USAF Air Wing, the Egyptians and Syrians had fired their first shots at Israel and the IDF was finding itself in a dilemma almost reminiscent of the Yom Kippur War. As the RDF began prepping their troops for battle, the Roosevelt's klaxons blared as the ship's escorts detected a flight of Syrian Su-24 "Fencer" attack aircraft flying at high speed towards the Carrier...

-Recorded Transmissions from the Flight Deck of the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71)-

CVN CIC: Air Boss, launch all designated aircraft. November-Lima-Echo-Golf reports a flight of eight Fencers approaching the CVBG. Exact number of escorts, unknown.

Air Boss: Roger, CIC, commencing launch now. Cats, you've got green lights - Get'em in the air!

Lieutenant Tyrone "Bison" Dillard, VF-102 "Diamondbacks": Diamond-104, roger, all systems go.

Lieutenant Junior Grade Kyle "Kermit" Henderson, VF-102 "Diamondbacks": Diamond-106, roger. Engines at full power, igniting afterburners.

Lieutenant Junior Grade Rico "Wedge" Delano, VFA-82 "Marauders": Streetcar-307, ready for launch.

Ensign Cale "Crunch" Nelson, VAQ-137 "Rooks": Rook-502, all systems combat ready, prepared for launch.

Air Boss: Stand by... Cat One, Cat Two, Cat Three, Cat Four!

[Aircraft launch]

Bison: 104, airborne.

CAG's Comments
Good work, Pilots! The Roosevelt is safe for now, and the Syrians are trying to rethink their strategy at this time. Keep up the good work, boys, Israel may survive this one yet.

Intercepted Transmission
A Syrian Commander is very angry. An Egyptian Naval Admiral is dumbfounded over his ships failing to stop us.

Executive Officer's Comment on Transmission
I think the Syrians are hunting heads after that disaster. And it sounds like the Egyptian Navy is scratching their heads over this as well.

Re: HLCAO Israeli Defense 2001 AAR for Israeli Air Force Kickstarter Awareness
Day 02 - Target #44: Close Air Support
October 14th, 2001

The USA's intervention had seen heavy action already. A squadron of Syrian Su-24s fell victim to the Roosevelt's aircraft, and three Enemy Battalions were destroyed by the RDF. Amongst the RDF's successes was destroying a Forward Base that doubled as a Barracks for Egyptian soldiers, and a B-52 Strike annihilated a Convoy with an Engineer Unit alongside it. Yet again, the Teddy Roosevelt's birds would have to take off with all haste. The IDF was engaged heavily with Egyptian troops, and unfortunately the RDF was in no position to send them help. It fell to Commander Leon "Griffin" Greene to lead a small flight against the Egyptian troops with the help of his AWACS birds.

CAG's Comments
Nice work! Where the RDF could not deploy, we came to save the day before things got out of control. The Israeli Defense Force troops thank us from the bottom of their hearts for the CAS.

Intercepted Enemy Transmission
An Egyptian Commander and his deputies are confused.

Executive Officer's Comment on Transmission
We hit those Egyptian troops like a pile driver! They didn't even know what hit'em!
