Lord Perceval, Minister of the Navy, noticing that his gardens are simply a shambles and in need of his urgent attentions desires strongly to leave public life and its many demands on his time. He is well satisfied with hiw work at the Ministry having accomplished all that he set out to do. However, at the behest of his patron, Duke Simon, he will first put the long-outstanding matter of the pirates finally to rest and attempt to resolve the Pirates problem.

Knight Dale, Minister of State, agrees that Lord Perceval's gardens are in a deplorable consition and so supports any action which allows Lord Perceval to dedicate more of his time to this most urgent concern.

-1 DRM to the effort to resolve the Pirates problem.

It is noted that once again that the Admiral, true to character, remains an unsteady hand at the helm and has shifted his support once again tacking into the headwinds against the King's Ministers.

+1 DRM to the effort to resolve the Pirates problem.

The DRMs cancel out, leaving just a straight 1d6 roll against Lord Perceval's ability of 6.

Lord Perceval attempts to resolve the Pirates Problem: 1d6 = (6) = 6

The Pirates Problem goes unsolved and Lord Perceval retires to his gardens, discharged from his office which is now vacant. The Total PP Needed for Duke Simon's faction drops by 2 points to 23 from 25.

The Monarch's Support falls by 10 points to 60, and thereby also drops across the threshold into a +10 usurpation strength modifer from +20.

***

The Minister of Trade, being on the high seas, is unable to resolve the Agricultral Crisis so it too goes unresolved. The Monarch's Support falls by another 10 points to 50, but remain in the +10 usurpation strength modifer range.

Oh dear, oh dear, amazing how a little garden of roses can help endanger a kingdom. Someone should at least lose their head for that.

It is clearly part of the agricultural crisis, so the Minister of Trade is surely to blame!

Ironic that the Pirate problem will not be solved because of the Agricultural Problem and the Agricultural Problem will not be solved because the Minister of Trade is Privateering and fighting Pirates.

In keeping with the earlier discussion, I'll roll only one problem and take an immediate attempt to solve it.

Problem #1 1d6 + 1d6 = (3) + (5) = 8

Edit: Reroll (Pirates are already a problem)

Problem #1: 1d6 + 1d6 = (6) + (4) = 10

The Kingdom is much in disrepair as it is. There is no purpose to allowing the peasants to riot, burn businesses, and destroy property. Time to call out the guards. My King I ask for some minimal reinforcements as I cannot concentrate my men in all places at once, but be certain I will act with all due haste to end these foolish behaviors.

The Sheriff applies a +1 Drm (or is it -1) to solve the problem.

The High Minister and the Archbishop both apply -1 modifiers to the roll for resolving this Peasant Unrest.

Peasant Unrest roll 1d6 = (4) = 4

With the three -1 modifiers factored in, the roll comes down to a 1. Problem resolved.

Ministers responsible for resolving a problem do not also get to influence the attempt to resolve the problem. Not that it makes any difference in this instance.
