I wanted to get a custom container to hold my item cards but I could not find one I liked. Then I thought, hey why just throw away the expansion boxes. Here I made a container to hold the item cards using the Shores expansion box and some gaffers tape.

Step 1 - Mark out the bottom box. Using a sharp blade cut the sides in an "L" shape and cut the furthest line about 1/2" long just in case your measurement was off.

Step 2 - score lightly the front and back of the fold line and fold it up. remeasure your line and cut to size the flap

Step 3 - Gaffers tape (much better than dict tape) the 4 edges of the flap.

Step 4 - Tape the inside corners. Fold the tape into an L and use stiff metal ruler to get 1 half into the corner and then to seal down both sides of the corner.

Step 5 - measure and mark the top of the box with the bottom. Repeat the first 3 steps for the top box. I did not tape the inside corner on the lid.

Marking ...

Flap is long ...

All taped up ...

Fits good ...

Step 6 ...
Made some card separators out of the Shores box insert and labeled them.

Inserts...

Everything in the new box including the spare sleeves and the community content that I dont have enough sleeves for.

Me watching you cut up such beautiful expansion boxes:

(Note, this is a very cool idea and I may make something similar, but only out of lesser-quality expansion boxes. zombie )

@Michelle that is hilarious.

@Endevor - I bought this insert from go7gaming.com and I am waiting on the artist case it will go into. Apparently I needed a way to make a few 100 cards weigh 15 lbs . Between these 2 I should be all set cardwise. The large base box will hold all the tiles and the item card box.

Hey Stevie - which box insert is that? Do you happen to know the model number?

Here's the version that I'm working on. Not finished yet, but since we are doing show and tell.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000MM79X2/ref=oh_aui_deta...

$14 on Amazon.

Insert pops right out, then you can go to work with foamcore. It's the perfect height for sleeved mini euro (or standard cards on their side). I also like the fact that some of the height is in the lid itself, so even though it holds the cards snug and you could flip it upside down without problems, the cards stick up a bit and are easy to see/grab when the lid is open.

My plan, in addition to storage, was to make a quick set-up box that you could draw cards/tokens out of during play. I think part of the reason that Myth doesn't hit the table as much as I would like it to (solo) is due to set up/tear down time.

I plan on putting treasure tokens, coins, potion tokens, trap deck, quest decks, etc in the space that remains.

All cards currently out are sleeved and in it, including the community pack. There is room for more of each color as well - I left even more space for gold and oranges, as I expect that will be the largest area of growth down the road. I used some foam blocks to fill in the spaces behind those colors. Some sections look fullish due to air in the sleeves, like the green, but I can compress it down a good 1" or so with minimal force.

My plan is to shuffle (probably only every few sessions), draw from the front of the stack, discard to the back.

Row 1 -White, Brown, and "other" - Summon stat cards and rules from community pack
Row 2 - Green and a section for quest items
Row 3- Blue and Orange
Row 4 - Gold, Gold "Set" cards, and Purple

OOooOOooOOooh, CarelessOpossum, I love that idea! Also, darn it, this is probably what will get me to buy the dang colored item sleeves.

Does anybody have updated item sleeve counts (by color) for Myth +all heroes +all journeyman stuff, but without any community-made cards?

It lists community items as well, but they are on a separate page. This is what I used to figure out how many of each color to get. I sleeved community pack as well, so don't have the standard numbers off the top of my head.

Just be aware that the sleeves are still overly large; they crowd each other and the threat/vitality tracks when on the Hero Boards. I made neoprene Hero mats to get around the issue - not sure I would advise using them with the standard boards.

Thanks for the confirmation on that! I was wondering if that had been fixed. Ha, it's been so long since the pledge manager, I'd almost forgotten why I'd passed on them in the first place.

OK, I think I will just print some colored card backs then, and slip them in my existing sleeves.

Does look good indeed! I personally made separator inside the core box with crafting board (quite resistant).

Biggest issue I would say is all the tiles that the game has.... hard to make them fit in the same box! xD

yeah besides being expensive the inserts are not less work than cutting foam core. You have to white glue it all together and in a particular order. I'm always looking for new ways to store my games, so thanks for sharing.

I think other folks want to see different ways as well because folks after different budgets and tastes.

Nice, nice storage solutions... Although I found a EU-company with some interesting boxes: http://e-raptor.pl/Board_Game_Boxes I decided to wait until I get my JM stuff. ATM I have:

- Deckboxes for the big cards
- Several, transparent plastic boxes for the tokens
- Item card decks hold together by rubber bands

All cardstock is in 1 base game box together with the above stuff. A second base box holds all minions (in plastic bags) and all my dungeon accessories. Captains, mini-bosses, bosses etc. are on a seperate shelf

The shelf is actually a lot more crowded now. The pic is from a year ago or so. TBH it is no so much for display reasons as for easy access when playing.

This thread makes me irrationally happy. Myth is a game that seems to naturally encourage "storage porn".
