Hey everyone!

I have two questions about the abort phase.

Lets say that we have a 4p game.

P4 is critical, and is facing 2 enemies.
P1-P3 doesn't have any monsters facing them and are not staggered/critical.

My question is:

1) In the abort phase, does P1, P2, P3 will have to face these 2 enemies each of their turn and survive to escape?
Something like:
P1 faces it. Survive.
P2 faces it. Survive.
P3 faces it. Survive.
They escaped.

2) Can you play any cards at this turn (and eventually kill any enemy or even heal an ally that's not critical/staggered) or only take damage?

Thanks so much for the help!

Once you hit the "abort" button, because a runner goes Critical, you're trying to run away with your lives.

Based on your scenario, P4 just went Critical.

Now every other Runner has to take a turn in "Abort" mode.

During Abort Mode, any obstacle facing a Staggered/Critical runner will move to face the Current/Active Runner.

So first P1 has to survive the 2 enemies that were facing P4.
If P1 survives, then you've successfully aborted.
If P1 staggers or criticals, then P2 has to face the enemies and survive.
If P2 staggers or criticals then P3 has to face the enemies and survive.
If P3 staggers or criticals, game over as a loss.

So only one person has to get away.

As to question 2... Yes, you play normally and can damage out the obstacles, but doing so will not result in anything but a successful abort.

There have been times when I was playing with my wife where we realized we couldn't complete the objective, but would be able to finish off the final obstacles after one of us went critical, resulting in a successful abort.

Sometimes you take your wounds and like it.

Be aware that abort only applies to certain scenarios. Be sure that the scenario allows aborting. Given that I assume you're talking about the base 'crossfire' scenario, you should be all set.
