My favorite character to play in this game is Agnes. However, I've done 2 true solo runs and Skids is my favorite so far for true solo. I'm about to embark on a Wendy true solo campaign, and I imagine that will be fun as well. What is your favorite investigator for true solo?

I played thru it with skids.
He was fun, no doubt, but I probably could have played him better.
I have Daisy all set up for later.

Agnes, Skids, and Daisy here. Wendy has been hardest for me solo. Roland works, but I just don't enjoy his playstyle as much.

Also Skids. He has the firepower to push through enemies and also the speed to get away. I found with Roland that if you don't get the right weapons in play, he's too slow to evade and you struggle doing damage. Investigation is a mixed bag with both.

Enjoy playing all investigators solo. Daisy is probably the most challenging as she struggles in combat.

I've got one core set so I imagine things are more balanced with a second.

It's not so much that things are more balanced, it's that the deck has more consistency. You have more control over what you will draw. Having 2 copies of Old Book of Lore means you have a better chance of seeing it earlier for example.

I think Agnes is a beast, but I do give the edge to Skids. They're both fun.

Roland is less fun, very straightforward but quite powerful.

Yeah I agree. Roland's for when I want to pick up the boomstick and plow through the campaign shooting anything that moves.

Is Wendy no longer hailed as the best solo investigator?
