We found that the secret objective "Antimater Mastery" is quite impossible, even if the other players act cooperatively. Considering that this objective is from the "easy objectives" deck, we were wondering if we missed something in the rules?
Rationale: "Antimater Mastery" requires 13 upgrades in technological development.
- At the start of the game, you get 2 upgrades for free.
- During the game you may upgrade your technology every other round, that is at most 8 times.
- There is a progress card that grants you one upgrade,
- and another progress card that may give an upgrade - but only if you are the lowest player on the tech track at the time the card is dealt, which is unlikely if you are playing that objective!
That sums to 12 upgrades under optimal conditions. Yes - there is the theoretical chance that you may get the missing upgrade due to another player unlocking a "lightbulb" technology early enough in the game for you to benefit, but again this is unlikely if you are playing for heavy tech development.
"you may purchase any number of advancements on your technology chart by spending the resources listed" p22. So you can get 3 or 4 advances in one action
Thanks, we missed that. This changes the game a lot
