Hello,

How many weapons can a Support Weapon crew fire?

I'm asking this question because the description for Support Weapon includes the following:

"Surviving soldiers choose which weapons to use for each attack."

If we use the Mercenary Heavy Machine Gun Squad II as an example, we see that there are three weapons listed on the card:

Can a player choose to use all three weapons from this unit since the Support Weapon description states that the player can choose which weapons (plural) to use?

What are your thoughts on how the Support Weapon description is currently written?

Thanks,

Marwan

Page 156 has the rules for Support Weapon. The rule-book trumps the cards which can have wrong or incomplete descriptions of the rules on them (yay, quality control).

With a support weapon two crew are required to fire the main gun (or the last member if everyone else is dead). They can either fire that or their other weapon choices. The remainder of the group can only fire the other weapon choices. The main gun line for support teams is an exception to the normal "fire all weapons" option for units.

The wording in that rule throws up all sorts of questions that you have to dig through other parts of the rules to understand what it is actually talking about.

In the case of this card if all three were alive you could fire the main weapon (Heavy Machinegun) and then either the Shotgun or Submachine Gun. If one of the ladies is KIA, you can either fire the Heavy Machinegun or both the Shotgun and Submachine Gun. (Note with Support Weapons you don't take off individual models, you only mark how many are dead, so all weapon options remain viable until the unit is destroyed).
