Game Overview - As you may already know Duckling Dancin' is an expansion to Chicken Cha Cha Cha (C4). So you will need a copy of C4 to dance with the ducks. DD components allow 2 more players to join the C4 fun - using a purple or red duck. Now up to six players are able to play C4 with the DD expansion. The DD expansion also adds the poop variant to C4.

The Poop Variant - Here are the basics - In addition to a chicken/duck playing piece, each player receives a poop dropping of their chosen color. The poop is placed on on egg tile @ the beginning of the game. Once an player is an egg tile behind a poop dropping they must find the next available tile (the poop tile acts like a chicken/duck - in that, the guessing player must find the next free tile match). If the player finds the match for the next open tile they can freely jump over the poop dropping. If the guessing player does not make a correct match they lose a tail feather (if they have any) to the player whose poop dropping is in front of them. At that point the poop dropping is removed from play. A player regains their dropping for placement on the board when another player hops them during the course of the game. The player can then re-issue their poop on one of the open egg tiles.

Components - 2 wooden Ducks & tails - purple and red. Also included are 6 poop droppings for the puprle and red ducks and the chickens from the base game. Again, the components are fantastic. The ducks, tails and poop are made of the same quality wood found in the base game. You are getting good quality product as far as the components are concerned.

Game Feel - The variant is a nice change from vanilla C4. I have moslty played this with 3 - 4 players which seems to work well. I have not used the variation with 5/6 players. My guess is that with 5/6 players the game might be somewhat more congested - with a lot of fowl and poop on the tiles. In addition, with 5/6 players you could have the possiblilty of a lot more feathers being swapped. Overall the droppings add a bit flavor to the base game.

Overall Impression- Our family has been hooked on C4 since purchasing it late last year. The variant has given us a nice change from the standard game. We usually play several games, alternating between the base game and the poop variant.

Final Rating - 3.5 out of 5 droppings.
Enjoy!

For the love of God... DO NOT tell anyone under the age of 7 that the poop actually represents poop. If you want to enjoy playing the base game, I beg this of you.

Cha Cha Cha is a fun game for what it is... a memory game. Once DD is introduced, it suddenly becomes, "Step in my pile of Poo", "Ohhhh... look who stepped into my pile of Poo." a BILLION TIMES OVER. Maybe we should have said it was "mud".
