Phalanx rules say that to win, North must take over all Southern recruiting cities of values 2 and 3, including Atlanta and New Orleans. But Atlanta isn't a recruiting city and New Orleans is just 1. What's that all about? Bad wording of rule book or map mistake?

Re:Map question
msaari (#31509),

I took that to be all Southern recruiting cities of value 2 and 3 in addition to both Atlanta and New Orleans (even though they don't fall under the previous conditions).

Re:Map question
msaari (#31509),

Actually theres a error on the map. This offcial errata taken from Web-Grognards:

"Phalanx Games

Bad news, good news:

A House Divided´s map contains two errors. Both Atlanta and New Orleans
need a red "2". Phalanx will provide color stickers for the map free of
charge. All copies to be shipped in the future (the large majority) will
come with the stickers."

Re:Map question
Further to the sticker issue - do not let this "errata" put you off the game. These stickers are VERY nice and as long as you're careful to align them correctly you will not even know they're there. Seriously, unless you look at them at just the right angle or run your finger over the board you will not be able to tell that there's a sticker there at all.

Re:Map question
Stickers aren't a problem (Age of Steam has an ugly sticker which doesn't bother me), it's the length of the game and the relative boredom when compared to Hammer of the Scots or Liberty...

But thanks anyway, I'll have to write to Phalanx Games about this it seems.

I have uploaded two images (one for Atlanta, and the other for New Orleans) depicting the game board before and after the corrective stickers were applied. In both uploaded images, the top-half of the image shows the game board BEFORE the corrective sticker was applied, while the bottom-half shows the board AFTER the corrective sticker was applied to the game board's surface.

Atlanta

New Orleans

In my opinion, Phalanx Games admirably remedied these two obvious errors by providing high quality stickers to correct the game board. (Personally, I would have preferred no board errors at all, but this is the next best thing.)

Hopefully, this helps all prospective A House Divided gamers regarding this issue.

Just my 2 cents, and good gaming!

Thank you Phalanx Games for sending me the stickers so promptly!

I didn't have a answer for my email inquiry but received directly in less that a week the correction stickers from Netherland to France.

I received my stickers very quickly. April 2009, 5 years after the game was published. Thanks to Phalanx.

Mine just arrived too.

It's great that they are still supplying these - years after publication and even to people who bought the game second hand.

Look carefully in the box for the stickers. Mine were tucked in the "game catalog" So... for you folks that throw those out... CHECK TWICE!

OH... and they are very nice. They match the board exactly and you can't tell they are there.
