Update: Game will begin Sept 2nd (forgot Sept 1st is Labor Day)

Star Wars: The Return of the Jedi

I’m announcing the sign-ups for the finale to the Star Wars series (yes, I know it took far too long to get this one going). The rules for the “Big” game are not yet complete and as such aren’t posted, but the beginning game on Tatooine is listed below and is in signup now. Players who play the Tatooine game will have first dibs on a spot in the “Big” game.

“Big” game concept:

Two battles at once
Death Star Assault
Forest Moon of Endor

Each game will take place simultaneously, but in two separate threads. Players will be in either one game or the other (not both). Events that take place in one game may lead to certain things becoming (not) possible in the other game. For example, if the shield generator is destroyed in the Endor game, the Rebels in the Death Star game will have a better chance of achieving their goals. Players will be free to read the other game thread, though they will only be observers. I will be posting updates about how the games are going into each thread so players are informed of what their options are (or may be in the future).

Now to the game at hand:

9-player Game on Tatooine
Evil: Jabba, Boba Fett, Rancor
Good: Luke, Leia, Han, Lando, Chewbacca, R2D2&C3PO
Results of Tatooine game will determine the # of aux goods/evils available for the following two battles.

Tatooine 9-player:
The adventure begins with a return to Tatooine to rescue a frozen Han Solo from the clutches of the evil Jabba the Hutt. The game will be played as a hunt to find and release Han, escaping the Sail Barge before it explodes into smithereens.

The evil side will attempt to foil the rescue attempt, or prevent the good players from escaping should they manage to free Captain Solo from his carbonite prison.

MAJOR VICTORY:

Good: “Someone who loves you.” “I’m taking care of everything.”
Find and Rescue Han, escaping Tatooine after defeating Jabba and his minions (Kill all three wolves). If the good side defeats Jabba and his team without finding Han, they still receive a major victory (they can search the place freely).

Evil: “I will not give up my favorite decoration.”
Prevent the good side from discovering the identity of Han Solo (reach wolf parity prior to the good side locating Han).

DRAW:

Good: “I think my eyes are getting better.”
Locate and thaw Han Solo, but fail to defeat Jabba and his crew (wolf parity).

Evil: “You’re gonna die here you know. Convenient.”
Prevent the rebels from escaping in heroic fashion (wolf parity).

ROLES:
Good

Luke Skywalker – “You will bring Captain Solo and the Wookie to me.” Hero of the Rebel cause, Luke makes the journey to Tatooine to save his friend (to which he owes two) and fulfill his destiny. If Luke is left alone with the Rancor at the end of the game, the good side wins (hunter-type).

Princess Leia Organa – “I’m here.” Bold and curiously sensual, Leia sneaks into Jabba’s palace disguised as a bounty hunter in order to save Han’s life. Each night Leia may send me the name of one player she wishes to “examine” to see if they are Han. Should she locate him, the Rebels will be informed of Han’s identity.

Han Solo – “Look Jabba, I was on my way to pay you back… and I got a little sidetracked.” Scoundrel turned hero, Han now fights to defeat the Empire (and win the heart of the Princess). Unfortunately, the trip to Jabba’s Palace has left him somewhat worse for wear and a little hard of seeing. Every day until he is discovered, Han may not post until one other player has posted.

Lando Calrissien – “Wait I thought you were blind!” Once too concerned with his own problems to take care of, Lando has reformed and is working off some excess guilt by posing as a guard in Jabba’s Palace. One night only, Lando may choose to guard one player, preventing them from being killed at night.

Chewbacca – “Wrrawwgghhh” Loyal Kashyyk Wookiee, Chewbacca willing gives himself up as a bounty to gain admittance into Jabba’s Palace. Chewbacca has the same power as Princess Leia.

R2D2 & C3PO – “I present to you a gift: these two droids. Both are hard working, and will serve you well.” R2D2 & C3PO are the seer character for the good side. Unfortunately, the restraining bolts they have been fitted with do not allow the droids to determine a player’s exact role, only the side they fight for (good/evil).

Evil: All evil characters are aware of Han Solo’s identity, and may not select him as a night kill unless he has been released from carbonite (found by the good side).

Jabba the Hutt – “Ho ho ho ho.” Jabba’s power and prestige lead to arrogance, proving potentially to be his downfall. Jabba possesses an additional power of the sorcerer role. He may look at one player each night to determine if they are R2D2& C3PO (is/aren’t view).

Boba Fett – “He’s worth a lot to me.” Boba Fett worked hard for an entire movie to get the bounty on Han’s head. Should Han be located by the rebels, Boba Fett gains the brutal ability: and may eliminate any rebel player (except Han) should he be lynched.

Rancor – “Roarrr!” Rancor, Jabba’s humungous and hungry pet is a powerful opponent. Unless Luke is voting on Rancor, Rancor cannot be lynched unless he is in the lead by at least two votes (i.e. Rancor-4, Leia-2 = Rancor lynch, Rancor-4, Leia-3 = Tie unless Luke votes on Rancor).

Ties will be broken by LHLV.

Both Chewie and Leia will receive random (and different) non-han view on N0.

R2D2 and C3PO, and Jabba don't get a N0 view

Role will not be reavealed on death: only side affiliation (good/evil).

I kept thinking to myself, "Maybe I should write ptper and ask if I can run ROTJ for him." And I kept thinking that, but kept running other stuff, and figured, someday he'll get around to it.

So hell yes, I'm in.

I would assume not since an all reveal would guarantee victory for good.

Might be cutting lynch time close but I should be able to make it. And hey! It's star wars. Who could resist its ancient powers?

That was why I was asking.

Just wanted to verify either way.

Re: Star Wars: RotJ Tatooine - Day 1
The Cassandra Automatic Vote Tally System

Your Moderator has enabled the Cassandra Automatic Vote Tally system
for this game. In order for it to function correctly, your votes will
need to be formatted correctly. The following rules will explain what
you will need to do:

Players
1. All votes must be bolded

2. The entire vote statement must be bolded and enclosed in bracekts: [vote jmilum]

3. Only one vote per post.

4. If you [vote nightfall] your vote will be locked (voting
nightfall is allowed in the same post as a vote for a player, but it
must come after it, this does not violate Rule #3)

5. Vote tallies will be automatically posted to the game thread hourly
if the tally has changed. The Tally and Vote Logs (for each game day)
are also available on the Cassandra game page.

6. If your vote is not counted be sure to check the Vote Log page and
see if it was marked invalid and why.

7. Case does not matter and simple typos will not cause the vote to fail.

8. You may [vote no lynch] if your game allows it.

9. Non voting players will be listed in the tallies. This will only be
correct if the Moderator notes which players have been killed (see below)

10. Editing a vote post will invalidate the vote and it will not be counted.

Moderators
1. The moderator will need to post [Dawn] when the day begins
(after the night results are posted) and [Dusk] when the lynch
deadline has passed and the day is over. Votes will not be counted
after [Dusk] has been posted. They will be registered again
after [Dawn] is next posted.

2. You may include a day number in the dawn and dusk post for
informational purposes, but it will not be used by the system.
Cassandra will increment an internal counter each time it sees
[Dawn] no matter what day is shown in a dawn post (i.e.
[Dawn 3] the three is allowed but ignored)

3. After dusk has been posted, the Moderator may go to the game page
on Cassandra to request a Final Tally to be posted before the normal
scan period has elapsed (i.e. Game Y gets scanned at 45 min. after the
hour, if it lynches at 7pm the moderator may request a tally to be
posted from the game page before 7:45pm. it will also be posted
regardless of whether or not it has been changed since the last
posting) - Do this by clicking on the 'Retrieve Final Lynch Time Vote' link.

4. You will need to note which players were killed via the lynch or at night by
either posting [killed jmilum] in the thread, or by going to the game
page and editing the player list. When posting in the thread, be sure to post
[dusk] before posting the lynch kill, and post [dawn] before
posting the night kill.
Example:
A. lynch time has passed so post [dusk]
B. goto the game page and select a final tally to be posted
C. check the final tally and post [killed melsana]
D. after the night deadline has passed post [dawn]
E. post the night kill with [killed kima]

Your Moderator has chosen to use the Longest Held Last Vote method for a tiebreaker - This is just for Cassandra system, and there may be a different tiebreaker specified by your Moderator in the ruleset.

Urg. Forgotten I was playing this; I'll see how it goes, but I'm rather tied up modding Shadows (which is turning out to be far more work than I anticipated).

I guess I'd better read the rules.

My Modding experience pre-dates Cassy (and not much after), so I'm still feeling it along.

Note to Bigfluffylemon: Beowulf is ready and willing if you can't quite pull it off. Sooner the better for alts I always say.
